IT'S ARRIVED - MY HORN CUTTING TABLE! Well, at least it arrived in 4 packs - it had to be assembled! What to do, my hands are not what they used to be! Trevor started to turn some screws - he said he doesn't like doing pre-packs (is he kidding, who does???) about an hour into it - my hands were throbbing from turning the !!#@$#$! Phillipshead screwdriver! HELP AMY WHERE ARE YOU? - thankfully she was just around the corner visiting a girlfriend (actually daughter of my best friend who died in March), so within a flash she arrived and 2 hours later!!!!!!!!! it's done.

I actually said to the lady in the shop this morning,

"Do I need a engineering degree to put this together?" No, she says aggghhhh! grinning from ear to ear!!!

Anyway it's a great addition to my sewing room. Now I've got to find things to put in it. I've taken pictures of it extended, closed and from the side position. As I'm off to see Mary Poppins tomorrow I won't get a change to fill up the cupboard and drawers. I've put my Overlocker in one side and some threads, but my new furniture is arriving in a couple of weeks and I want to keep all the threads in there together. Love and blessings to you all Chris

Trev just walked in and said Oh! wow it's all tidy in here now! ha! ha! - my room is usually tidy, it was just a dig at the mess that was here all afternoon. Goodness knows what it will be like when the cupboards arrive - I think they are pre-packed as well! He is not going to like that either. Never mind, it's all good storage and out of sight, out of mind I say. Love Chris

well, he won't like that either. Love Chris

I forgot to say it's about 39" long x 34" high x 18" wide (that's of course without the sides out). It's such a great height now for cutting, no more sore back!!! Two doors which hide shelves and two deep drawer areas, one with a tray for bits and pieces. It's all on castors so is easy to roll around. I'm hoping by the morning the swelling in my right hand has gone down!!!! Love Chris

Ice packs, ten minutes on ten minutes off will take the swelling away. hugs, me

Hi Meg, it's 7.00am and the hand is still sore. I tried ice to help it, but I have damaged hands due to carpal tunnel really needing to be redone. Both hands were done years ago, but I'm afraid they should be done again. Love from me too.

It sounds like a dream - do take care of your hands - I understand exactly what you are dealing with - I have that, too. I have to wear braces on mine all the time. Meg is correct with the on/off trick.

You can see how heavy this is as it's left roller marks in the carpet square!

This is a great way to keep organized and pratical
because you do not have to put things away in between
projects.
Good luck

That was a lot of work. We have a couple cordless screwdrivers and they sure save on the sore fingers and wrists. Wish I was there to help. I love to put things together. I like how it folds down when you're not using it.

You're not kidding, we used great screwdrivers, but my hands just don't doing things like this anymore. Love Chris

Well this looks very posh, you lucky girl. I think that a degree is needed to put flat pack furniture together. Hope you have many happy years with your lovely table and look forwards to seeing what is created on it. Good Luck with getting the Brother machine you have seen. I love Brother, but I am biased

Chris, One thing for sure you are now the envy of all of us that sew. So happy for you even though you did end up with sore hands. Before the cabinets come in run out and get yourself electric drill and of course let Meg know when you'll be putting them together. Hugs Karen

Wow I want one. Hum where would I put it... I know my husband has some space in his office....HAha.... I laughing he's not. I have taken over 99% of the space in the last 40 years....good thing he is minimalist. Maybe I'll just come over to your house for cutting day. I love to travel!

Enjoy your table Chris, they are great! I have had one for 10 or so years, but mine came ready assembled thank goodness! I can't fit it in my sewing room so it sits at the end of the bed in the guest room and when cutting large things (curtains, wedding, upholstery) with long lengths of fabric I open it against the end of the bed and have the fabric supported on the bed instead of hanging over onto the floor.

A great addition to your sewing room Chris - must tell you last winter in Florida went with my sister to an Anita Goodesign seminar - ended up buying my new Innovis 2800D, and there was a drawing for one of these tables - would you believe I won it but had to tell them I couldn't take it so they gave me $500. - my sister just about had a stroke when she saw I had won...the van is loaded to the roof when we drive home, plus I might have had a problem with the customs at the border...Enjoy yours my friend hugs & *4U x0x0x0 Glenda

Thanks Alma - it's a great height for me as I'm little (only about 5'2" 163cm). My right hand is just beginning to feel normal, it's taken a long time this time to feel good. Love Chris
