Hi Cuties...need help. I recently upgraded my Embird from build 8.7 to 8.8D and the upgrade changed all of my text files that were with my embroidery designs into a text format that cannot be opened or used...it's a red sewing machine icon with the text verbage....when I try to open in Embird it goes crazy. Running XP...

It is nought to do with Babylock Sara, just a change in Embird's files Icons.
If you see anyone else having this problem can you refer them to my answer here please. hugs n roses, Meganne

They haven't been changed, just the icon for them because Embird now uses the .txt extension for a Quilt file. You can still open them in Embird by right clicking on one then scroll down to open file in external application, you may need to browse to find NOTEPAD but once you select that once, it should then do it every time.

I complained about it but had my head bitten off by quilters who use the .txt extension for quilt files. LOL!!!

Thank you, Meganne for the reason why Embird did not open text files anymore. I just opened Embird, opened Options, Iconizer settings, and unticked the line: Quilting:PC Quilter Text from both lists that say: "from the list of file types which you would like Embird 2010 to open when yu double click on them in Microsoft Windows Explorer

and "From the lis below, select the file types which you would like Iconizer to generate icons when you see them in Microsoft Explorer". Now I can see the text pad opening an can read the contents.

I am not a quilter, of course.

I think I did it...although all of the quilting iconizer settings unchecked themselves...will this cause me any problems(?) don't know how to just uncheck one option for the txt file...
