Hey All, haven't posted for a day or two and thought I would share a discovery that I made. I have very dark carpet and every time I start embroidering I carry little snippets of thread throughout the house, so of course I feel the need to vacumn everyday. I was at Lowe's the other day and looked around. What I found is one of the doormats that have the rough grassy texture. Works like a charm. I kind of wipe my feet each time I leave the room and it takes all the tread off of the bottom of my feet, shoes and or socks. What a time saver!

I never feel the need to vacuum, that must be terrible to have such feelings. :-)))

Sometimes the dust bunnies tell me they'd like a change of scenery though, so I carefully brush them up and set them on their travels in the Wheely Bin Express. LOLOLOL!!!!!!

Seriously though, your mat sounds like a good idea but I have one at the bottom of my stairs and it doesn't stop the dust bunnies from coming in. hahahaha!!!!

Hugs n roses, Meganne

Oh Megan, you are funny and I have to say I am the same way, lol. Right now there are dust bunnies under my bed that really need to see what my sweeper looks like! I have sworn for a full week that I am going to do it "today" but never seem to get to it!

Meganne can you come and send me on a trip with the Wheely Bin Express too? Wanna also a change of scenery *lol*
Greetings, Bettina (who escaped on saturday in my regular red 4-wheels-car to the dutch fabric market ;o)

I know what you mean, this drives me crazy but not enough to make me haul out the vacuum everyday (ugh hate
vacuuming). |I wear shoes all day so I do not spread the
thread and snippets (neat word) around but my DH comes into my sewing room to see me in sock feet and carries everything throughout the house. Maybe if I get a mat he can give his little paws a rub before he exits. Thanks for the tip.

This wouldn't work on the dust bunnies but I use an old paint roller with masking tape turned ,"sticky side out". I have the whole thing attached to an old plastic broom handle. Actually it does work for dust bunnies but fills up pretty fast. I'm saving my dust bunnies until one of them is big enough to saddle and ride. I like the grass texture mat idea, this could stop a lot of my snippets from escaping the sewing room in the first place. I usually do a ROLL of the floor (with the paint roller, I just had a horrible visual for a moment) before I leave the room.

Great idea! My DH says that all the threads he accidentally ends up wearing is a way of telling all who see him, "I belong to a Quilter!" LOL! Ya gotta love 'em!

To borrow the words I got in an email from a dear friend " I will vacuum when they make one I can ride on". Sounds like others feel the same as I about vacuuming. Great idea about the mat! Thank you.

Thanks for the tip. I also leave thread all over my apartment and only vacuum every other day. Will not be doing that, however, until Monday, because I have a craft market on Sunday. Looking forward to it. Love and have a nice embroidering/sewing weekend. ***

I agree with Pauline - vacuuming is for the birds! My Trevor does the vacuuming for me and he always complains about the threads! I always wear socks in the house and I'm forever leaving little trails of them lying around. By the way, I love those mats we have them outside. Love and blessings Chris
