Well after being up at church for 4 hours yesterday cleaning the windows for our 25th anniversary tomorrow I then went home and put together the last wall unit. Trevor has put up some hooks on the outside for me that Meganne gave me (Rooster hooks) and I have placed all my fabrics into plastic baskets so I can see them easily. In the 4 drawers at the bottom are all my threads

Chris this looks like my idea of heaven in a sewing room. I am not as tidy as this and my room is being sorted. I had wondered about changing sewing rooms, my younger daughter said stay put. Do you use your exercise bike while embroidering? Right I am off to sort my threads to make them look somewhat tidier

Hi Caroline, I use the bike whilst watching the morning news show. And sometimes throughout the day if I am sewing out a long piece of embroidery. Love Chris

Chris, this looks so organized and well thought out - I don't know what Rooster Hooks are - but I can see things are in good order - if they help - perhaps I need some of them, as well. I know you will create great and wonderful projects, as you always have in the past.

Yes Shirlene, this is all alphabetised - ie. aqua, black, blue, brown, cream etc. etc. These are all cottons except a few fabrics down on the 3rd row 3rd box across. It's so great to have all the threads under cover too. Love Chris

Your new unit organizes all your sewing supplies nice and neat. I am using a couple bookcases my son abandoned and while they are useful they are not quite deep enough but they did get me organized.

Thanks Sarah - yes it's lovely having new furniture. Once I get rid of my bookshelf I'll put my cutting table there. If you can imagine it's on the opposite side to this wall unit! Love Chris

My goodness Chris, this is so nice, I like your basket idea too. I have big cupboards, and must also use plastic containers to put all in so that I can see everything, but your nooks are fantastic, as it cannot get cluttered. Love it.
Hugs and God bless

That's the great thing about these wall units! The baskets I had in my other sewing room and I too like to be able to see what colours I have. I alphabetise mine so I start with black, then blue then cream etc. Love Chris

I love your organization here! What size is your unit, overall? I need something like this but deep. I have a messy room. I have boxes and bends, stacked on top of each other, but I can't see what is in them. I do label, but I can't label each and everything. I also have two tall book case units, that I have Sew Beautiful books,x-st books.etc. and 1 is full of fabrics. I have an 8 foot table with boxes under there. I know where most everything is, but it is to go through that takes so much time.Like a bend marked fabrics, WHAT Fabrics?haha

Looks great, not enough storage for me!!!! Haha, wouldn't even house my quilting fabric so all my goodies are in packets. One day I'll have enough units to pack everything! Congrats on the anniversary. Can we see pics of anything you made for the celebration? Hugs Elizabeth
