I keep getting cut off.......I hate this new thingy, anyway....I need motivation to work. I have not touched digitizing, sewing machine, knitting needles, nothing........When one of my animals dies, at least I know where they are...I am devastated at what may have happened to her....will stop now.....I could just go on & on...hugs..Vicki

I'm really sorry about all this Vicki. My kids have pets and I always worry about how they would handle it if something happened to one of them. I hope she finds her way back home.

Oh Vicki, the good things is that since she was feral before, she does know how to survive in the wild. Cats have a way of coming back, and sometimes it just takes a while. Oh I do hope and pray she will be back to you soon. My heart just aches for you to have Graycie back on your pillow again. Hugs and prayers of understanding, Jan

A few days ago I heard a story about a dog named "Pete" who was originally from one of the southern states and some how found his self here in Michigan. Well long story short Pete was just reunited with his owner after a few months missing. It was more than a blessing because the owner, an elder gentleman, just lost his wife a few weeks ago. It was a very happy reunion and I'm hoping your little Graycie will be home in no time.

Have you been checking with Animal Control in your area? Here we have to call them daily because they will not call us, even if we have an animal with ID and all (lame!!).
Has there been any construction in your area? I ask that because I've found a few kitties who have hitched a ride on a truck by accident and ended up elsewhere. If you have construction anywhere around you, then I would definitely ask if they have seen your baby. Ya never know. Good luck and don't give up hope!!

Yes I have, and I have an ad running in the paper. I know she will not go to anyone but me and maybe Jim as she is afraid of everything.....no construction around....

I just saw this. I have not been on the community in the last couple of days. sorry about Graycie. What happened? My KiKi was gone for two days. Some bully cat has been beating up on her. One morning I found her break away collar and puffs of her hair all over the front porch. And several days later she stayed gone for two days. every few minutes I would go to the door and call for her and she just showed up very hungry. my KiKi was wild also and lived in my bushes for a year before i finally got her in. some one in her previous life had loved her and had her spayed and i found out by accident that a neighbor ,one street over, has brother cat that showed up at the same time at her home. I know you are worried that someone bad has happened. Do you think that she is traumatised and hiding? Kay

Oh yes, Kay, they were all traumatized. While we were in AR securing our home from the break in there, our home in IL was broken into and left wide open..5 furbabies were recovered, Graycie has not been found.....

I hope you will let us know when you find her or learn what has happened.
I'm remembering my first cat.. She was a very skittish creature, as I had taken her from a very abusive situation. Yes, I kidnapped her. She had her hind quarter crushed after the owner got mad at her scratching and threw a tea kettle of water at her. Her hip, leg and foot were broken so bad that her bones were crumbs. I bandaged her, gave her daily water exercise treatments, massage and TLC. She recovered. But she hated all men. Right after I got married, my husband opened the door and startled her and she took off outside. The first time she had ever been outside. We searched for her for weeks. I had finally given up finding her as we were living in the city at the time. Then one day one of the neighbors came do the door and wondered if the cat he had discovered was mine. He had a cat in his garage rafters. His car had been broken down for several weeks, so he hadn't opened or closed the door for ages. He had one of those (at the time) new-fangled self opening garage doors. He didn't see her dart in when she entered. Then he went on vacation. In the end, she got to come back home, much thinner than when she left, but happy to have been safely returned. I wish for you the safe return of your little precious. Cats are very sturdy and enduring creatures. Hang in there and keep holding out hope until she comes home or you have absolute proof that she will not be able to come home. Keep your machine running. Maybe she'll recognize the sound and be drawn toward it. Best wishes for you and for Graycie!!!

My desk is covered in tear stains as she is still not home....have been looking and calling and I have not left home, am afraid she will come while I am gone. She howls when it rains and it rained last night and I was just crushed as here she was outside in it and now it is dropping into the 30's at night and she would sit on the heat registers in the house......I can hardly stand it..I am NOT giving up on her!! I am so happy you had a happy ending, Deanna and I pray I will have the same outcome....Hugs..Vicki

and now it is dropping to the 30's and she used to sit on the heat registers in the house, so I know she is cold and it is killing me...thank you for the heartwarming story, Deanna, for it gives me hope...hugs...Vicki
