Jo, this is great - but remember one thing - they also know what they did and they will at some point pay for it - in God's time - my dear - you stand strong and clean up and learn from this - either with a larger deposit or with a firmer way to deal with renters. You go girl!

You know, I don't think that the people who cause this kind of damage are hateful hurtful people. Actually, I've seen lots of this and it is called laziness. My daughter and several of her friends have the tendency to be lazy. In fact, she moved out rather than clean her room. I love her dearly and she has a heart of gold, but cannot see the forest for the trees. I hope and pray that she doesn't break someone's heart like your renters have, and finds a way to make her new house a home that makes her proud. I think tidiness and respect are learned traits, and lots of younger people turned a blind eye or just wasn't taught. Hang in there. Question though; would a property management company have taken care of this? I'm wondering for myself as well as you.

I am so sorry to read about your experience with renters. I truly don't understand why people do this and choose to live that way as well. Hang in there not all people are like that.
