It looks great and the fabrics are well matched. noone would know it was your first bag. I love to make bags and find them easy, but that's because I do them a lot! They're still not perfect, though. Each time I make one I tend to do something different. An extra pocket here, a different method there. We live and learn, with practice.

Glad you went on, it is a very nice bag and you can be happy about it - next one will be easier to do and you will always find a new challange (pockets, zipper, embelishment) to cope with, thats part of the fun first one done - on to the next - good work

You have made a great bag, the next one will be much easier. I particularly like the way handles match the pattern on the bag. Congratulations

If this is your first then how can the next get any better? If you would like to do more but need patterns then go to the link below. You will find several bag patterns there that you can re size and add pockets to before printing. lots of other items to how about co- ordinating the tote with a cap, do a dogy coat to match it.
congratulations on your achievement and i look forward to seeing more of your work.

Oh just noticed the tag hoop on the side this is a great idea to hook your keys onto and save rummaging in the bottom for them. next time try adding a few pockets to the inside linning. they are a pick pockets nightmare as they have no idea what holds what and you can get to special items fast. I allways make at least one large pocket on the inside to hold my note book so i can keep my grocery list handy and its also usefull for those emergency phone numbers.
I have a long cord on my car keys and then simply loop them over the handle. that way they are allways ready to hand and no way can i loose them.

Thanks for pointing out the key loop. I'm going to add one to my very next effort! But I'll put a D ring onto it, as I have some here :)
by deeside 04 Nov 2011
Could I suggest putting a loop for keys INSIDE the bag not outside.
