A question for Cuties with multi needle machines. Please do you rethread every time you change colours or pull the threads through as you would do with a overlock machine? If you pull the threads through what do you do with the leftover thread? Any other advice please for a multi needle machine, I have a PR650? Thanks

As the thread passes on the outside of my MB4 I pull my threads through to chnage colours. I dont do this with the metallics tho. I dont keep the left over cut off pieces. hugs Helen

I have a EP-4 and pull the threads through, metallic too, the machine has an easy tension-off lever. I save the cut-offs in a jar and have given those away a few times as I don't use them myself.

Thanks Mops, I aught to save the threads as at the moment I dont. After 2 replies its interesting to see I am doing as others do.

I save all of my threads. When I have enough, I will attempt to make a scraf using WSS. I was shown this is one of my first courses I took. Have been saving since I started embroidery (June 2010) and probably have enough to try it, just do not have the time at the moment.
Should be interesting,

Wel with all the bits of thread you will have a unique scarf. It is great fun doing this with the threads

I pull through the threads and don't save it. I save too much as it is and don't need anything else to save. I have an Amaya XT and if something happens that I have to completely rethread instead of using the plastic wire-like device I prefer to use canned air. One tiny burst and the thread shoots all the way through the long tube and out the front of the machine. So quick and easy it is scary. We probably should have a post about other uses for canned air. Love the stuff.
