Mary no one has answered this for you. So is it because no one has anything to say about it or no one has one? Cant answer that question as I have no knowledge on these machines at all. Personally I would not buy a Singer machine. What size is the hoop? I seem to remember that you live quite a way from dealers so if you get one of these machines will you be able to get it serviced etc.

It is in the futura line of machines . The sewing machine is similiar to the CE150 machine and the embroidery part is similiar to the CE250,but with added features and a larger 6x10 hoop. It embroiders quite nicely. One neat feature is it has multihop capability.(it can show up to 4 hoops on the screen at once and then works thru them.) hope this helps.

The Futura XL 1400 is the same as the Futura Quartet on HSN just different packaging software.
I have The Futura CE 350 and recently got The Quartet. For this Price point it is a good machine.
I've been doing FSL Necklines in the larger hoop and its been working great.

I don't expect it to work like a Huqsvarna
Diamond but its not thousands of dollars
either.
It works for me and my projects just fine.

Keep in mind that you use a computer hooked up to the Futura. I like this but some may not like having
to have a computer to work on their embroidery machine.
I love the larger hoop capability!

Just so everyone knows - Although Singer had a bad reputation for a while it now falls under one roof which includes Pfaff and a host of other machines. Some are identical but cheaper under the Singer brand so shop around.

I have read some good but some not to good, the thread breakage, the auto. thread sometime does not work, etc, I am afraid buying a lemon, remember this is going to DR I have a technitian just in case, because I know there are not dealers in DR the only comp is Brother and it has its limitations I love the larger hoop, I have shop around for a larger hoop but they are out of my price range. Thank you!!!

I love mine and have had no problems at all. Ever since I got it about 6 weeks or less...it's stitched almost non-stop!! I love to be able to see everything on my computer screen and being able to re-size designs!! I do all FSL now and tried for the first time last night to re-size a KO snowman design. So I'll make another without re-sizing so I can compare quality. He hasn't had his swim yet, but when I have both stitched, I'll share my findings either in Community or projects.

I'm very, very happy with mine!!

I just wanted to add..Mine is Singer XL-400. Far as I know Singer does not make and XL-1400? So I may not be helping you at all by my answers since I have the Futura XL-400 complete with software.
Sorry if I've confused you or anyone else by my comments on the XL400.
Hugs
