Hi Sally - I do not think that you are able to delete either in projects on in public. I may be wrong.

You no longer can. You used to be able to access your projects via 'My account' and you could edit or delete them. Hope that feature returns.

You are not alone. I see several people don't realize that their project is loading I click the button again because its taking too long to get to the next step. Then when it does load they have 2 or more of the exact same thing posted. I agree with mops, such hope we can access our acconts soon again so we can delete these if and when it happens.
To error is human, to forgive devine.
I am sure everyone here understands this was not done intentionally by most anyway.
I would not worry about it. Just be sure to give your computer plenty of time to load it up. Looks for signs that it is loading before clicking the load button again. A little green bar on the bottom of the screen does not always show when your project is loading, so you have to look for other indicators on your machine that it is doing something. Like the little swirl icon that reminds me of a dog chasing its tail (on mine). Or whatever your computer may do when it loads something.

Good Luck and keep on Doing what you do best!! :D

Don't worry - it seems to happen to us all sooner or later!
