Just thought I would post this seperate so others will see it: "What to do with left over thread".
I have a commercial machine, so I end up with lots of wasted threads. Sometimes I just toss the bobbins (I use prewound throw away). The extra thread that I get when changing out my threads, I put in a basket and cut them into 3" pieces. My grandson hangs them in the trees in the spring, it fun to watch the birds take the threads to help make their nests. No waste, and he loves doing it. You don't want them to long, they get tangled, and the birds can't pull them off the branches.

Good idea. I always throw mine out for the birda. Also I cut a lot of fmily hair and throw that out also. It's neat to see a birds nest inmy trees with the hair and threads. Never waste anything, there is some use for it somehow. Hugs and a flower for you

I save the extra tread and when I get enough I put it between 2 sheets of wss, do a stipple stitch to hold it all together with clear thread. When I'm sure that the tread won't fall off, I rinse the WSS in water and put the results on the outside of a bowl. Let dry, trim up the edges, then I have a very pretty bowl. Try it, you'll like it.
