Hi everyone, I've just seen an add for Nancy's Notions for the bobbin stacker, anyone have any thoughts on it? I know Meganne has one, they are expensive here in Australia and was wondering what the costs are like overseas. Love and blessings Chris

Please what is expensive? Looking at the conversion rate from US to Au its pretty similar. What is postage like between the US and Au?

In Australia they are about $25.00 plus postage $5.00 makes it $30.00 - for a bit of plastic -I thought that was dear. Love Chris

Chris as I enjoy recycling I too think its expensive for a bit of plastic. Could you pick one up on ebay? I cant see anyfor sale in the UK. I am sure they are for sale but living in the middle of nowhere there are none locally or even close...
Thanks Caroline - it's a great idea, but I reckon that piece of plastic tubing you can get from Bunnings and just cut it open will do just as well. Love Chris
I did not like the stacker and found the tubing does a much better job and far less expensive. Also after a while the stacker seemed not to hold as well anymore and with the cost of tubing I don't mind replacing them once that happens

you may get them cheeper in the US Chris , but then its the postage thats the killer.I want to order some Organ machine needles , and postage is $30.

I ordered Organ needles thru Ebay and the postage $6.50. Ebayers name is cutextilemc
I found that the expensive postage is for express post.Ask for a quote for the type of postage that takes 10-14 days to get here.If the needles are in flat envelopes ,they should cost about US$5 & if there in a box ,the size of a small matchbox it might be about $15.

I have a couple, and I really liked them at first. Now I am having problems with them - could it be my sewing desk is so cluttered? I got mine from Shopper's Rule - I really do still like it, I just keep knocking it around. Good luck with them.

I use a small cardboard box and the plastic container the bobbins came in, for the pre wound ones, only take out a single bobbin at a time. i guess I improvise!!

Although the bobbin stacker looks nice, I use those donut shaped bobbin holders and hang them on the wall. The less clutter on my machine and shelf, the better. So anything hanging that is right in front (or near) the machine is my preference. I guess it depends on your set up, but I am prone to clutter and work hard to avoid it. The donut things work for me. I buy them at the local Bernina shop for about 6 or 7 dollars, apiece.

Oh do you mean that other horrible annoying stand thing? Biggest mistake I ever made, I hate it. it falls apart when you pick it up. The Viking tubes are better to use than that horrible thing. TRULY.

Why not look into this one - it really is the best thing - it lies flat and keeps the bobbin save and they never fall out.

I use these too and love them. Blue for sewing, red for embroidery.
I have about this many more and I should take a new picture - lol.
Chris, you just slip your bobbin into them - they never fall out - unless they are not in the tube straight. You acan turn it upside down and they will not come out - so if it gets dropped on the floor - they are still inside it. I love them.

Looks like a lot of handling to get them in and out,
like the ring better but will keep dumping them in a small jogourt glas near the maschine, takes up to 15 all the others are stored away in a draw nearby. Still looking for a good diy solution , as said already depends on your seting what you need.
