My prototype - I saw something similar to this, and I could not find a pattern. This is a hot pad with the towel attached to the back. One of my friends and I each gave it a try, and I think it is pretty neat. I used insulbrite and some batting so that it will not burn the hands. I cut a hand towel in half, and stitched to the backing and then joined all toghether. Hopefully my next one will be better looking. I was sure a fumble fingers getting that binding on.

That is a nifty idea. How did you attach the towel to the potholder? I like where you are going with that. If you cut your binding wider, it will be easier to put on the towel too, if you are tucking the towel under the binding. I think you did a great job here!

Neat idea but my brain can not figure out how the towel part works and not get in the way or caught on fire if it touches the burner or oven element. I now have a convection oven and glass top stove and haven't burnt any pot holders in a while. lol

Beth, I like how this looks - I think with any binding - it is difficult - but with practice - it might get easier. I like it.
