Grand daughter, Esther, for Baby Dedication Day Nov. 20. I made the dress & the blanket. Can't see the tail of the dress, but it was something I found in MY mother's stash. The emb. is from Martha Pullen's IEC. The blanket is a Martha Pullen project I made several yrs. ago. She was a good girl the whole time!

Shirlene, it was actually a long piece of insert, I think, that has all the tucks with lace on each side. But I put it running around the bottom of the dress. Was about 4-5 inches wide.

Esther looks so beautiful, in all her lovely finery!Her gown is just lovely, with the lace edging on her sleeves, the beautiful emb designs on the yoke front and also down the front of the gown. I also caught a little look at the band around the skirt hem. It looks like 4 rows of pintucks, with lace insertion on top and bottom edge.Her blanket/quilt is no less beautiful. I see you have shaped lace insertion, along with your emb designs.If I am not mistaken, I also recognize maderia applique. You have got a good eye! You're right about all of it. The blanket was an all year once a month class using different heirloom skills. Martha goes to the same church & I wanted a pic of her with Esther, but she was at an event with her grandchild! Tks for the sweet words!
