It has been a very teary day today. It was bad enough I couldn't sleep last night without my little girl in bed with me, but to receive the bad news, this morning, that Tidgy could not have the radiation treatment because, what was thought to be a kidney infection has turned out to be grade three kidney disease.... this has just devastated me.
Evidently the Hyperthyroid condition was masking the kidney disease and once the HTC was treated and her heart rate was brought down the kidney disease showed itself for how bad it really is.
There is no treatment for kidney disease.
Ray came home tonight so we will go together to the University tomorrow and bring her home, to love and care for her, for whatever time she has left.
Our local vet rang me this afternoon and he used the term "gutted" to describe how he felt when he was told the news by the Uni Vet. He was so upset and we both cried at the unfairness of it all.
It's a good word, GUTTED!

I am so sorry Meganne! I know your heart is breaking! Just remember that an animal can sense what you are feeling so if you treat Tidgy with alot of love and try not to let Tidgy know how much your heart is breaking, he might just stay with you alot longer. A pet is just like a member of the family except that usually give you alot less grief than the 2-legged members! hehe My thoughts and prayers are with you! Linda
