Just have to share...just got another response to my ad in the paper for Graycie. The calls I am getting now are people offering to give me a replacement for her..I gently decline and then bawl my eyes out...there is no replacement for her!

There wil never be a replacement but I think the people offering are trying to ease your pain in some way.
Hope you feel better soon.

Yes, Michelle, they are and that is why I gently tell them no, but it just is so painful.....they have no way of knowing..

So sorry to hear that she is missing. I hope and pray she returns like my daughters cat did after being gone for a few weeks. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. If the burglers have her, I hope they return her to you out of guilt.

Thank you for the prayer, he didn't take her, she bolted from the house & was spotted the next day while we were still out of town by a neighbor...she is too timid to go to anyone but us

Thank you and you are so right. We caught her at 4 mos. old and she is now 14 yrs. and has been indoors since 4 mos. old. She needs to be inside where she will be safe, fed, warm & loved!!

I'm so sorry for your loss! I know how that must feel, as my baby, Stormy, was over 20 years old, and finally gave in a couple years ago. I miss her all the time, big fluffy ball of love. :( You will never 'replace' her, but you can always take another in eventually. I had another cat before my Stormy passed away. She is a wonderful source of comfort. Take care!

Even though we have 5 other kitties, I miss my Graycie as she is the only one who slept with me....you know how they all have their own unique ways...Your Stormy lived a long life, how wonderful!

I cried more when lost my chow/shepherd cross after 17 years than I did when I buried my parents. Not that losing them was easy, but it is hard to verbalize what our companions mean to us. I am so very sorry.

Grief is a journey,
often perilous and without clear direction, that must be taken.
The experience of grieving cannot be ordered or categorized, hurried or controlled, pushed aside or ignored indefinitely.
It is inevitable as breathing, as change, as love.
It may be postponed, but it will not be denied.

Don't give up hope just yet. I have 14 cats and no they aren't all indoor cats! Twinkles was one of the indoor-outdoor ones and loved the woods. After a spring tornado she came up missing and was gone for 5 weeks. She is a very stronge cat having survived already 2 other life threatening experiences so we held on to our hope that she would return. After the 4th week it looked very dim but then there she was in the bedroom window wanting in. Looking more dead than alive so thin and emancipated that I think you could see the blood running in her veins. I gathered her up found some soft warm towels and cuddled her up next to me believing I was just giving her love in her final hours. The next day my neighbor came over and asked me if my cat had come home, they had been cleaning up some of the storm damage and removed some trees from off their old van and she had been trapped in it! She must have sought shelter during the storm and in the weeks since it drank rain water that seeped in from the crushed in roof. She was pregnant when she got trapped so I hate to think it but had to have aborted and..... well to sum up she is fat and sassy today just 4 months since it all happened and hasn't spent the night out side since!!!

My goodness, what an experience. And so many cats! A great happy ending for Twinkles, for sure. I'm glad she's now chosen to stay inside -at night is good, but always would be even better -there are some great cat runs done these days :)

That does give me hope!! What a story of courage for Twinkles..thanks for sharing!
