WILL IT NEVER END? My daughter was just released from the Dr. that did her colonoscopy when she fell and shattered her ankle. She can't put any weight on her foot and her shoulder surgery hasn't healed enough to use crutches. It's just been one thing after and I haven't been able to do any sewing or even to come here and read what's going on with the group! Just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that I'm still alive and kicking.

Well - I was always told bad things happen in 3's - that is 3 now, so maybe she can relax and heal.

I don't know her situation, but sounds as if she should stay in the bed so she won't undo anything. The girl in my Dr's office had foot surgery and she did not stay off of it long enough and she had to have the surgery all over again. This time of year is rough to be confined to bed.

Well, at least you all have each other. I know you are getting discouraged, but it will soon end. Get enough rest as you try to take care of everyone.

You have had your hands full taking care of her. Hopefully this will be the last of problems for a while. You can only take one day at a time and praying for the both of you for better times to come.

The wonderful thing is - you have each other - now both of you rest and heal together. You can catch up later. Take this time to talk about all the things that you have wanted to talk about and share the stories of your youth and then hers, too.

Was she still under the effects of the anesthesia? What a nightmare!! It sounds like both you and here are not catching a break. Hang in there. Maybe all of the unpleasantness will happen at once and then you will be free of it for the next few decades. One can only hope!!

Oh I really do feel for you.
Sometimes everything just seems to pile on top of us, one thing after another, and it just overwhelms us. I have been thinking on this for a little while now and I think that often there is just one event that REALLY kicks us in the pit of our stomach, we are so devastated by it that everything else that happens after this one event, things we would normally take in our stride, well we are just too down to cope with all the other things, and they swamp us.
Once we come to terms with the most devastating of the events, we can then put everything else in perspective and handle it all.

I keep telling myself, "what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger" but even that wears thin when we go through one of these 'trouble' cycles.

I do hope your daughter will mend quickly, in the meantime perhaps you could hire a wheelchair for her, it won't solve all the problems but at least she'll be able to still get around.
Hugs and prayers, Meganne
