If you go to the Community page and look for the Search button under the larger Ask The Community button and type in 'software' you'll get many messages and questions with their responses.
You'll get a lot of information to read.

I believe that Embird is a favourite and it has plenty of support and tutorials to help you master the digitising skills.

I think the consensus here is Embird. I haven't bought it yet, but it seems to have the most tutorials available.

I have Embird, I like it and I think it is not that difficult to learn. I do not know about other software, I bought first the basic, then saved some money and bought Studio and Iconizer, I am thinking about Alphabet? I still learning not very good student i see the videos(many freebies) try it learned it, then I do not touch it for two or three months I have to start from day one, I do use Basic almost every day... good luck in your desicion.
