The Bags I have wrapped long strips around a washing line and then zizaged them together. I will look up where I got the animals from.
Animals I got from Purple Hat.

Yes U could do a rug this way, will use quite a lot of washline, but U could use up all your scrap pieces of material. I cut them about an inch wide, some people just tear them , it takes forever to do this but U can do some everyday like I did.
I dont know how U would weave this, but U could sew a close zigzag, that would make it quite sturdy???

Yes round one put a plate on cloth , cut out two pieces then long strip and added zipp and Tule Flower I made
