Haven't used Isacord...I'm a Metro girl! Polyester thread...beautiful sheen, fabulous prices, two sizes of cones...also use their prewound bobbins...can't beat the price on these either!

I use Isocord all the time. Works great and love the sheen. Suzanne

As answered before, certain machines like certain threads. For normal embroidery I have use Metro, Isocord, Madeira, Robinson Anton, and several others. Isocord is a good thread!

Welcome to the Cute family! We're glad you joined us.

I think you'll find lots of different answers to what's the 'best' embroidery thread since our machines are all different.

I've tried many different threads and found that my 2 machines LOVE both Metro and Mettler threads. But both machines hate both Sulky and Threadart though. So I now use Metro Thread almost exclusively since my machines purr along with it, it is so reasonably priced and has a lovely sheen. I've discovered that embroidery machines are just like people ... they like different things. :)

For metallic thread, since Metro doesn't offer it, I use Kingstar mostly.

BTW - a word of advice -- don't buy thread off of eBay. A lot of us have wasted a lot of $$ buying poor quality thread there.

You might want to buy 2 or 3 spools of different brands to see what your machine prefers. Good luck finding the thread your machine loves.

I am going to agree with sciencewidow on this one. I think that each machine has it's own personality and you need to try different threads till you find the one it likes. It is the same with bobbin threads, I had a machine that would not work well with pre-wound but both of the machines I have now are fine with it.

I used to only use Robinson Anton Rayon, my personal choice. Then the wonderful cuties here praised Metro so much I had to try it. I now have all 166 colors plus a few dozen variegated. Then in Sept. Isacord was having a good sale so I tried it for FSL. Fell in love with it. I think it's a personal choice, what you want to use it for and what you and your machine like. My Janome MC1100SE loves them all. Welcome to cute. Hugs..Carol

As others have said, each machine has its favorite---I love the sheen of Floriani. I like the price of Sulky at Joanns when they have a sale AND 10-15-20 %off total purchase including sale prices.

In regards to thread, I have 2 Brother machines and besides the Brother brand I have used Isacord (love it),coates & clark,thread art,and thread from Sick. My machines seem to like them all.Hope this helps.
