Where in the United States can you buy Mylar? I went to Michael's today and they do not sell it. Where else can I look? Any suggestions?

I got mine from heirloomsbysharon.com also, great price, get the opal, it is more clear with hues of color through it.

I checked on them and found the mylar. Are there shipping high? Or is it my glasses?
by anne55 20 Dec 2011
I just checked and for one set of mylar at $3.45 the shipping is $1.50. That may be a little high, but it is better mylar than you will find at the Dollar Store, etc., which I don't think is for machine embroidery.

I thought it said $20.00 plus dollars. Well it was my glasses. Need to make an appointment. And you are right that shipping is just right.

I think it would be worth it to get the quality stuff. Cheap is nice, but not if you have wasted all that time to have a disappointing project.

Wrapping paper and gift card stores usually carry a fairly good selection, such as the Hallmark store or Greetings N More if you have anything like that around you. Beware though, that the colored stuff MAY bleed when it gets wet. Test a piece to see. The iridescent clear stuff won't give you that problem though. There are a few websites that sell it as well. I do not remember the name of the one that has so many varieties, but will post again if it comes to me.

type mylar in your search engine. You should be able to choose from there.
Hope it helps.

Thanks. I did that but it is kind of confusing when you are not sure what it really is.

Party supply stores have this stuff too. Probably not as cheap as the dollar stores, though.
