Please don't let me get old. Have just been to see my MIL in her retirement village. She is 95 and full of fight, but today I found her all depressed and just didn't want to be here. Have spoken to her Grand Daughter and it is her medication, but it is necessary and she will be back to her old self when the medication is finished. I gave her the Stitchout of John (her son). She said I love it and you are going to make me cry. I told her that he was going to watch over her. She said this makes her realise why she is still here. My heart went out to her.I am all teary just writing this. As it was I had to go to a funeral this morning.

Must of us have had these kinds of difficult days to get through. Maybe tomorrow you can visit your new granddaughter and put a smile on your face.

I have lost 3 friends since November. Will see my Grand Daughter on Christmas day. Will be interesting to see how much she has grown.

Oh my Lyn, my heart goes out to you and the situation that you see your MIL in - I am amazed that she is 95 - she has been a fighter for a long while. when the meds get back on track - the difference will amaze you and you had just the right gift for her - at just the right time - isn't that a God send? It makes my eyes leak, too. The funeral of your friend's husband must have been hard on you - as well. I will continue to pray for you dear one.

My friend was just so strong today. I told her will have to learn the computer (her husbands. She said she won't have time as she will be busy sewing. My friend looks the same as Debra on Cute. Might be her double??

Alma, I really just wanted to cuddle her like a child and tell her not to worry, because if her Grand Daughter can't do something for her I will be there to help. I rather liked her fighting spirit.

I loved my own Mother who passed in 1994. To me Mothers are really Special. I keep in touch with my MIL because of my Late husband.

Having gone through a WHOLE BUNCH of similar circumstances, all I can say is that she still has at least some of her mind, and that, in and of itself is a blessing and a gift to her family, including you!!! I wish my MIL was a pleasing person to be around. But we had to work long and hard to find a place to take her because her meanness. It is torture to visit with her. It sounds like you have a good relationship. That will lead to an easier passing once she does get to that point, since regrets will be fewer. I hope that she can live lots more years!

Was you MIL alone for a long time. My MIL lost her husband about 40 years ago and I think that she beacme so bitter after losing both her sons. She never rings me but since seeing her today she has rung me 3 times as she has forgotten what I said.

Thank You Chris, My MIL was often nasty and very abrasive and I guess I have become used to her, but to see her today, I felt so sorry for her. I rather liked the nasty abrasive one as to me this was normal.
