Thanks for the Birthday wishes! I am not sure about the spoiling but It is quiet, and I havemy furbabies and alot of times they are better company that some that walk through the doors. I am not trying to be ugly but my girls are both very good girls and wonderful company! I do not have to dress up for them and if I am in a bad mood or a good mood, they do not judge, they just play and love and are wonderful to have around! Hugs, Linda

Thanks Yvonne! I am alone today, got a call earlier from Son and DIL reminding me that I am another yr older! Hey, that is really something after the events of the last few yrs! I feel very blessed to be celebrating at all so I do not mind being alone today! I have my wonderful furbabies, My friends on Cute, and a few phone calls from home to tell me Happy Birthday. All in all it has been a very nice day! I got up early and was going to get out today but decided that I did not want to fight the after Christmas croud in the stores. Thanks sooo much! The mind and body is tired today after a great day yesterday with my son's family. The company was great and it was a very pleasant day! I will just let that be my clelbration for both occasions! It is quiet today and I am alone with my furbabies. I may even cook me a cake before the day has passed! That is always a good way to get my son and DIL to come over! I got my birthday present yesterday along with my Christams. It was a very nice day shared with family and some of our friends. We had Brunch instead of cooking a huge meal and all of the children were very quiet and occupied with new toys all day long! Hugs and blessings, Linda

When I was younger, I always felt cheated with it being the day after Christmas! I now appreciate every birthday! I have had only one Birthday party in my life and that was my 10th birthday. Mama always said that it was too close to Christmas and everyone would be broke and that everyone would be busy preparing and cleaning up after Christmas. I do agree with that now that I am an old lady!hehe B-U-T I am sitting here and thinking about a sour cream pound cake and I have a recipe that I used for catering many yrs that I love! I just might have to have to get up and throw it together and share it with a neighbor! Since I joined Cute many yrs ago, I get alot of wishes on this day! I made Muffins to take to my son's for brunch yesterday so I really do not feel cheated out of a cake today so I guess I am just being greedy! Hugs, Linda
I always had my daughter's party the middle of December so her school friends could come. My daughter does the same for her daughter,so she doesn't miss out by her birthday being the day after Christmas. Thanks so much! My Son and DIL just called on the speaker phone to wish me Happy Birthday! They are both off today! Most of the family was at their house yesterday for Brunch and to watch the grands and my great grands open their Santa! Their family is a broken one so they actually had Christmas 3 times in the last two days. The great grands with their Dad first, their Mom and all of us during the day yesterday and then to their other grand-dads last night. It was a very quiet day and everything went very smooth, considering it poured down rain all day yesterday. The boys got bikes but also got so much more that they did not fuss about anything all day. They just played hard! WE were missing DIL's oldest daughter and her family because they had plans with the other side of the family. We had Christmas with them early this year. I even got to go home a couple of week-ends ago to spend some time with my family. I had not been in over a yr! It is a long drive and I can not sit very long without my legs swelling like crazy so I do not take many trips home! It takes a week of bed rest to get the swelling down! I need to get dressed and go to town today but I do not see me doing very much today. I hate to fight the crowds swapping gifts or looking for after Christmas "sales"!

Happy Birthday! My birthday was at the begining of the month and my gifts went under the tree with the other gifts as a child, so I understand how you felt. My granddaughters birthday is the 22nd. Since I was a December baby once upon a time, I told my daughter to do a half birthday for her. My granddaughter loves it and when her birthday is in December they have a Birthday date and make a Birthday cake for her and baby Jesus to celebrate. May your day be blesses with fun filled surprises, family and friends!

I am not sure but we do have a few that live in Georgia. It would be fun if we could all get together like we have talked about before and of course, include Lillian. Thanks! Yesterday would have been a total waste for me because I was hurting so bad after spending the day at my son's Christmas, IF it had not been for all of the wonderful Birthday greetings/wishes for my special day. Oh, and my aunt and my longtime best friend and Kay called to wish me a Happy Birthday also! I did not feel like getting out and My son was working and DIL had all of the children so I did not see a soul all day.
