I think I may have been the first to officially welcome in the new year. Where are you in the Uk? I was born in Scotland, Lanarkshire, Strathclyde now I believe.

I believe you were the 1st Alice- i'm in Norfolk nr Norwich - East of England, and as your in Brisbane, i'm sooo excited as my longtime friend is over 7th Jan from Maroochydore (nr Brisbane?) Havent seen her since she emigrated to Oz 20yrs ago :)

Ha Ha, I know where Maroochydore is. It is lovely there, I hope you have a good time with your friend. Bet she talks you in to coming to Australia, at least for a holiday, it is the best country in the world.

.... Hi Alice.... :} .....

I slept through the midnight hour and now I'm ready to face 2012.... missed the Royal Edinburgh Tattoo.

I'll finish the mowing this morning and then veg. out by the TV, drink lemon juice in cool, cool water and plan my stitching strategies. We are warm at last in Mount Gambier - I love it. It's a beautiful, still, hot morning outside and the brilliant sunshine is trying to sap every last drop of moisture from the browning grasses..... a proper mid-summer Aussie Day.

BTW.... I've been to Lanarkshire, nearly 30 years ago.

I went to another Japanese family in Coolangatta and we watched the fireworks. It was lovely!
