My very first completed lapquilt! I call it simply 'My African Heart'. I'm very proudly South African & wanted to show it off in the African print materials I used.I just love the Pierneef type tree material I used for the border and binding.

Thank you! The hearts are each made of bias binding I made myself. It was a really good fun project to do!

Great work!! I really like the bias you used as well. It appears to have texture to it. Am I seeing it right? Maybe it's just a pattern in the fabric. You've done a fantastic job for your first quilt!

I made the bias from African animal print material and used bondaweb to attach them to the background. I then stitched them on with invisible thread.
