African memories. The photographs were taken on a holiday in East Africa (10 years ago). I printed them using the bubblejet 2000 method and the printed fabrics came from South Africa via the Birmingham Quilt Show (Thanks Caroline!)The finished product is about a metre square and is the first quilt I've attempted. I have a lot to learn and I definitely need a walking foot before I try another.

Sue this is brilliant, I have just clicked to make it larger to get the most detail. What a great reminder of the holiday and a start to a quitlmaking career

Great idea to keep memories fresh. I am curious about the "bubblejet2000 method" of fabric printing that you mentioned. Can you explain it to us, or point us to where you found the how-to information to do it? Lovely quilt!

You soak the fabric in the solution and dry it. Then you iron it on to a piece of freezer paper so it will go through your printer.

Beautiful and inspired! Run don't walk to get a walking foot- you'll not regret it one second. Gorgeous photos, I will never see these animals in the wild, only zoos. You are blessed.
