Polar Fleece items - fabric & embroidery care question: I love stitching with polar fleece & its great to wear because its warm without being heavy, plus its relatively inexpensive and supposed to be easy-care, BUT it seems to be a magnet for hair - both people & pet - so, apart from spending hours with a clothes brush (which can wear down both fabric & embroidery thread)which I would rather spend sewing, does anyone have any bright time-saving ideas for dealing with this?

Be sure to use fabric softner sheets when drying. Also rubbing one lightly over the garment before putting it on may help. Pet hair seems to get attacted to everything. Also, try using one of the roller type lint removers instead of the brush. The rollers have tear-a-way sheets that can be disposed of as you use them.

thanks - I didn't even know there was such a thing as fabric softener sheets - I'll look for them near the laundry goodies next visit to the supermarket.
really?? you have never seen or used Bounce, Snuggle, Downy or any of the other brand dryer sheets? LOL without them for dryer items, I end up with major static cling-especially this time of year-not to mention getting "snapped" taking clothes out of the dryer =O)
I live in regional Australia. Looked all through local supermarket and discovered they stock one brand only (Cuddly) and only two boxes on the shelf so I've grabbed a box to try - guess that's why I've never noticed this "little luxury" before- Ha-ha

simply buy a childs bath sponge or a car sponge, gently wipe it over the fleece or any other item that needs to be cleaned of hair or fluff.
the tiny holes in the sponge grabs and holds it all.
if you wear dark clothes then keep a small sponge in your bag. try wipeing over the bed sheets when you get up and see what it finds.

With a rubber glove on wipe your fleece down, its a similar tip to eggyannies below. I also use the large lint rollers that are sold specifically for lint collecting. Sometimes I forget at the end of the work day to get changed before I cuddle the cats so either method are great for removing cat hair from black trousers

I have a a small hairy dog and I tell every one, My new accesories is dog hair, everyone gets a good LOL!

Yes, our pets often leave us with a little too much evidence of their affection - I can remember taking my D H to the dentist some years ago and the Dentist smiling and saying to D H "what kind of pet do you have?" with D H , (who had thoroughly brushed down his trousers before leaving home, looking at him as if he was a clairvoyant asking how he knew and the dentist smiled and pointed to the base of D.H.'s socks (he had removed his shoes to sit on the dentist chair) - LOL!
