I finished the Gold Metallic Heirloom Lace Angel from lindeegembroidery.com - the head and wings are 6.73 x 6.76 inches and have 61,406 stitches and the skirt is 10.85 x 7.50 inches and has 140,544 stitches - I had found some dark red ribbon that was wired and a bit too wide for my taste - so I just used what I already had embroidery thread and a tassel along with a pretty rose and lots of swarovski crystals. I hope you like the finished product and that you are not disappointed it how I finished her up.

Well it is a lot of hours of work but you need the right market at $250 not pensioned ederly people on fixed incomes.
by shirlener88 11 Jan 2012
I will not be selling this for $250.
by bumblebee 11 Jan 2012
Well that was my shock price, it might sell at that price but you need good product placement.
by bumblebee 11 Jan 2012
Its the business side of my personality coming out. Products and channels of distribution etc.

You have finished her off with just the right amount of crystals. This must have taken you all day just for the stitching.

by shirlener88 11 Jan 2012
Thanks Anita - actually I did the stitching yesterday - about 6 hours. Today I did the rinsing, drying and molding and staging - then later this evening I did the emblishment.

Hi Shirlene,

HOW LONG DID THIS TAKE TO SEW OUT? LOVE CHRIS
1 comment
by shirlener88 11 Jan 2012
Thanks Chris - it took about 6 hours for the stitching - another couple for the molding and staging - and about a half hour or more for the embellishments.

wow, lots of moulding done here.
by shirlener88 12 Jan 2012
Yes, there was alot - the metallic thread has to have all the stabilizer rinsed out - to look shiney - so then you have to add a stiffiner to mold it into the shape you see it in. Thanks

Oh my goodness she looks lovely but would be more so in the flesh. It would have taken longer to stitch being metallic as most people have to slow their machines down for this thread....
by shirlener88 11 Jan 2012
thank you - I didn't slow my machine down for this thread whatsoever - never had one thread break and only stopped stitching when I had to change bobbins - then on with the stitching.

Who is your target market? Where are you marketing?
Its key to your success.

I'm thinking shishi boutique fronts on consignment sale at that price. Specialty
year round christmas shops. In Los Angeles,CA we have different markets.
Lots of stars and people with $$$ but they
shop in different stores than the rest of us. For a decorative item at $250 I think it requires special marketing ideas even online.
Just my 2 cents

Also, you said that you didn't have a problem with the Metallic thread, could you tell us what brand Metellic thread you use? And what machine do you have? You do beautiful work, Shirlene!
by shirlener88 11 Jan 2012
Jane, thank you so very much - I will PM you on the price. As for the Metallic Thread - I purchase mine from The Embroidery Store - http://www.embstore.com/ - 1-800-504-9757
by designcrazy 11 Jan 2012
Thanks for the information. When I've tried to use Metallic thread, it wants to twist & kink.
by shirlener88 11 Jan 2012
buy the biggest spool you can - use a stand - use a mesh net - use a large needle.

Sew beautiful. My mother in law used to be a collector of angels. They were everywhere in her home. They brought such peace when she was going through those hard times of life. Nice job.

Thank you - angels to have a way of doing that - don't they.

I remember sharing a little angel with a elderly lady a year ago - she said that she collected angels and then she laughed and said, "May husband thinks he was my 1st Angel, too!"
