I just saw an advertisement for a free embroidery software program, called Stitch Era Universal Software. Does anyone know anything about this?

If you type "Introduction to Stitch Era u tube" on a Google or other search engine you can watch one of several videos on the software. Giving a direct link to U-tube don't seem to work.

It's free because you have to be connected to the internet all the time the program is running so that the advertisements can update. Because I pay per meg of internet usage I decided not to try SEU however I've heard that it's a great program and almost as good as Sierra's paid version of software.

Learning to digitise embroidery designs is a pretty steep learning curve and I think the best designs are those that are manually punched (where you decide where stitches will be and what they'll look like) so you should take your time and learn manual punching :) I believe SEU/Sierra has a yahoo group to help people with their digitising/software.

I personally use PE-Design because I have a Brother machine and the software came with it. I also have Embird but because I learned PED (by joining a yahoo group) I find that much easier to use.

Sophie Sew is another option for a free digitising program that you may want to look into as well.

Good luck and have fun learning :) xXx

I have just been in to have a look. Living in South Africa there are no 'dealers' here. It looks good, seems to do the same as my SewWhatPro does. I am just loath to DL the program without knowing much about it.

The vid on youtube looks great(and too good to be true *lol*) and I have the luck that I live in an area without a dealer so I can take the free dl from the webpage.
Did anybody see an information about the conditions to run it on your PC? I have an iMac ;o)
Before I do an dl for about more than 1 hour and then it does not work...
Greetings, Bettina
