I don't understand how to make the biscornu pin cushion have that unique shape. Can anyone break it down for me? I have made one but it is square. I have gone back and read the original directions but I still don't get it. Thanks

You have to sew the point of one square to the middle of the next, and so on, that gives it the shape. Try to pin two squares together in that way and it will be clear to you.

Mine was a mess,not square don't know what you would call it. I gave up. Biscornu making was not for me.
My first one was square also. I just automatically matched up the points and when done realized that wasn't correct. however, it still made a nice pin cushion.

The embroidered or cross-stitched pieces must be exactly the same and must be square. They are best sewn together by hand. Have the right side facing up, and find the middle of one side. Put the corner of the other on this point and sew it together using a ladder stitch or over and over [like a whip stitch]. Turn as you go and leave a hole to stuff, then finish.

Great question and thanks cause now I bookmarked the video. My problem is what to stuff it with, regular stuffing isn't that great for needles but I don't know if emptying an old pin cushion filling would be good for regular material. Decisions decisions.

I was told contractors sand sold here at Tractor Supply Co. I haven't filled mine yet but as soon as I do I'll post the results. This info was supplied by a lady that makes pin cushions and sells at our local quilt shop.

If you are talking about saving the YouTube video - you just have to go up to your BOOKMARKS heading and bookmark it. Love and blessings Chris

If you want to save the youtube video for later, click on this link and download the free youtube downloader. It gives you the option of where to save the file and I have saved many so I do not have to keep using up my monthly download allowance to review videos or listen to songs. You can download audio only if you want just a song and save it to your music files. It works great and is recommended by CNET. Hope it works for you!

I am not sure I explaned myself clearly after reading my post. The free youtube downloader allows you to download youtube videos and save them to your hard drive so you can watch them anytime whether you are connected to the internet or not. Sorry for being confusing.

When I made my first and I have now made many, I bought a design from Artistic Designs. In these designs there is an outline for the edge where you sew it together. Whenever I make a Biscornu now I always use this outline and it makes sewing them together so much easier. You sew the corner of one piece to the center of the other.
