WHAT did she pay for it? How is this a good deal for you?

How much are they new and what do you get with it?

I would have a really good look around first.

I have 2 babyLocks but have never seen this one before nor even heard of it. I have a feeling it is a cheaper model that has none of the accessories with it. I would call a babyLock dealer and ask questions before I even thought about buying this machine. I paid almost 5,000. for the oldest BabyLock I purchased and even more than that for the newer one with the color screen and the ability to download to a floppy disc and put it in the machine with the designs downloaded. I have the Esante and the Ellageo. I too have a Singer XL1000, one of the st out on the market and I paid almost 5.000. for it. I have the papers from the dealer on all 3 of these machines. My suggestion would be to find someone that has bought a newer model and is willing to sale you one with alot of the abilities and accesories to go with it. Some people buy these machines and decide that embroidery is not something they enjoy doing OR find that they do not have the money to buy the supplies needed to enjoy using the machines. My New Home regular machine (old) was the 1st machine I bought that had built in embroidery designs(very small) that got me interested. I have thought about selling my Singer because it has been used very little but decided to keep it to use as a regular sewing machine when and if the Old New Home dies on me. Does this machine also function as a regular sewing machine also?

I HAVE THAT ONE! It was my first embroidery machine. The hoops are a little hard to hook up on it, I have the 4x4 and 5x7 and a tiny one, can't remember the size. It was a little touchy with thread, and you have to use a certain bobbin thread in it. It's a noisy running machine. I do not remember what I paid for it, but I did like it. Just like my esante better. If you have a dealer that can help you when you have problems, that would be nice.

I liked it enough, the hoops are a little harder to hook up-they snap on. If you have a dealer that you can get in touch with, that will be a big pus. Don't remember what the original price was though.

I would rather pay the difference on one of the Brother PE770 or 780, which will be a newer more up-to-date machine, than the Emore. Check out the ones
at www.kenssewingcenter.com. The Emore is several years old.

Thanks for all the replies. This would be just an extra machine for lace and small projects. I hate to run my big expensive machine for the lace because of the stitch count. I could have a regular maching doing lace ect, while I'm running my big machine for other things. It's something for me to think about anyway, I thought for a extra machine the price seems to be right. You can't get much for 500.00.

I am very wary about buying used machines from private people. But... you might be lucky if she has all the accessories and the papers with it. Hopefully you have an agent close by to help with any snags. If you do buy it, I hope it will give you a lot of pleasure.****

I saw in a sewing group that it has been discontinued and back when they were sold cost about $1200. Also mentioned was a problem threading the machine properly.

I always prefer to buy new machines to have access to a dealer and support. And WARRANTY of course.

The seller may have had trouble with it. Could be the reason she never used it. Buyer beware.

If you decide to take the plunge and buy it I hope you get a great machine. The fact that you are an experienced embroiderer will put you way ahead of the game from the start with the machine.

Just be sure you're not buying a headache. Being an experienced embroiderer, you might find this machine too basic.
Babylock has the name, for sure. On the other hand a cheaper embroidery-only Brother machine might serve your purpose just as well.

Listen to what the others are saying about the bobbin thread especially as you want to do lace work which probably needs the same thread top and bottom.
