that depends on what you are working on sometimes you can use felt markers to "fill-in" stitches. If you haven't stitched the entire outline, you might be able to leave it out and use a fine marking pen to outline your design. Sounds like your fabric moved. There is a very good video of "how to hoop your fabric" at EmbLibrary. There are so many things to remember when you are new at embroidery. It will take time and patience. Remember to TEST stitch first before putting on something good. Hope this helps. Betty

1/2 inch is a lot. If it was me and I don't have much experience either I guess I would Undo the final stitch and try to rescue it with my sewing machine and a tight zigzag. Hopefully someone comes around and has a better idea. WELCOME TO CUTE

Hey welcome to cute!!! I had trouble with a applique also. When I asked the person I got it from about it. She said they recommended not to try changing the size. I removed the design the best I could and stitched another larger applique design over the first. Then put a iron on back to hide it from the inside. It wasnt perfect, but at least I didnt have to throw it out

You didn't knock the embroidery arm while you were removing the hoop did you?
If there is a chance you kocked it out of calibration, shut down your machine, restart it, allowing it to re-calibrate the embroidery arm.
Then skip through the design until you get to the segment you are up to and very slowly start stitching to see where it is going to stitching the outline.

Is it possible you didn't slide the hoop completely on when you trimmed? That happened to me! Also, if you didn't stabalize properly it might have "pulled" or "pushed" enough to be that far off. Linda

Oh dear, I do a lot of Applique and have only had trouble once (my fault). I have found that one needs to hoop really carefully and make sure that once the applique material is cut that the hoop is carefully clipped back. If the material is moved in the hoop then the outline will not be right. I see that Meganne has given you help. Good luck with your project and a big welcome to Cute.

Somewhere along the line, there was a tangle in the thread and I had to fix it, I'm thinking I must have moved the arm or something. But with a little guess and check, I repaired it. Since the design didn't fill my hoop, I just kept inching it down in the machine while alternately checking the starting stitch placement until it was back on target. Then I returned the machine to the stitch count that I left it off at and voila!! It's near perfect.

welcome, I had this once with a common design, no applique. After changing the thread the design just went on on a place far above. I did not understand either. In my case, I took it to the dealer and he fixed ir for me by oiling the embroideryarm . Something you must not do yourself he said. And after fixing this arm , so it moved very good again, I never had this problem anymore ( at least untill now)By the way: I have a brother machine.
But perhaps in your case it is caused by the design perhaps, or like Meganne suggested, perhaps you knocked the embroidery arm. Anyway. have a great time here at cute!
