GERRY please explain how this works, I have been coming to cute through that site but notice that the numbers just do not seem to move. Can you only vote once a day, why 2 different numbers, can you just clarify for me,

I used your link but could not get to a place where it said vote. I have been there before and voted, but his was strange today!;>)

I hope this makes sense to everyone. If it doesn't let me know and I will try to do a better job of explaining how the Top sites work.


Clicking on the Cute banner on that website only adds to the 'out' number for Cute so it is not helping Cute's ranking at all. The 'out' number that you are clicking only tells the 'Cute' webmaster how many people visited the Cute site 'from' Embroidery Top.

The reason Cute has fallen to #3 is that the 'Embroidery Top' link that use to be on the Cute site has not been added back yet after the redesign. I have looked but can't find it. The only way to 'vote' for Cute that counts in the ranking (1st number or 'in' votes)is to click the 'Embroidery Top' banner from the Cute website. For now the banner is not on the Cute site. When the banner is added back it will again be possible to vote for Cute and you will then see the 'in' ranking count begin to increase. When that ranking 'in' number starts to increase then Cute will again move up toward #1.

The reason you see links on websites that ask you to 'vote for my site' or something like that is when you click that banner it adds to the sending site's ranking or 'in' count. I always vote for sites that I like to help them. It is an advertising tool that helps sites get found by everyone to help their business. Top sites (if handled correctly) are picked up by Google and many other search engines. If sites are not picked up by the search engines they won't be found unless you specifically type in their domain name.

I wish we could vote for Cute myself and maybe we will again be able to soon. I sincerely hope I have not added further to the confusing way top 100 sites work.

There has been a lot of upheaval for all the Top Sites in the last 2 years. The whole thing was sold by a US owner to an owner located in England. He did not maintain the system well and often the sites were down or not counting correctly. He took sometimes 6 months to answer a service request ticket. Others he never answered at all.

About 3 months ago the owner in England sold the Top Sites system to someone else. I don't know where he is located. The newest owner has been doing a lot of upgrading to the whole system and very quickly answers service requests from Top Site owners. During all the upgrading he sometimes has to 'turn off' the counting system I just found out this week. I have a different Top Site called 'Embroidery Websites' at http://embroidery.gotop100.com/ and I had noticed it did not seem to be counting so I sent a service request. It was promptly answered so I think there will be lots of new sites added and great new things added to the whole system.

Let's hope 'Cute' soon has their voting banner added back to the site so Cuties can get Cute back to #1.
