Last evening after spending most of the day doing one and the same project my machine decided to play up. It kept gathering the thread under my work which I had almost finished. I took the piece from the machine and rethreaded the bobbin and the same happened. Then I took the bobbin case out and cleaned everything even took the metal plate off as there was some stray thread under it. Still the same thing happened. I did this 3 times without success. I knew at this point that I had already wasted the piece I was doing which was a base for a bowl. Pulled the embroidery arm off and put my ordinary machine arm on. Then I proceeded to stitch a basic stitch to see if it would sew. PERFECT. Then I put the embroidery arm back and everything was good, but with the problems I had before this exercise my design had now moved and even though I tried it would not stitch in the same place, but the machine is working fine again. Just wasted the time and thread on that base. Have to tackle another today.

Actually I didn't find the problem. The machine just sorted itself out. I HOPE.

When I have this type of problem it has usually come out of the take up lever, the thing that moves up and down as it stitches. However, you retreaded and it didn't work so that is a mystery!

No I don't think that was my problem. Suspect a stray piece of thread somewhere.

Yep. Some days my machine just hates me. Does all sorts of horrible things for no reason (that I can find) but try the same thing the next day and he is perfect. No idea why except that he's male (a brother). xx

Wonder if they are saying,"Mum enough for today. Can't stitch any more now?"

Pretty sure most of us can relate to your frustration. Glad it is working, again.
