How absolutely awful! I don't see how you can even function with temperatures that low. I thought it got cold here in Northwest Alabama but it is a nice 30 degrees tonight. :) That is almost summer compared to where you are.
Try to stay warm.

I can take the cold much better then the heat. You just learn to stay inside. My GS go to school 20 miles away, and they didn't even get two hrs late, which most school do. LOL

That sounds miserably cold!! It is definitely not hot and humid in Washington though. We are in the midst of an unusually intense blizzard, which has brought pretty much the entire states of Washington and Oregon to a stand-still. It is down in the 20s here and we have about 3' of snow. My dad grew up in North Dakota, so I've heard the stories of the evil misery of cold. Good luck with your weather. I cannot imagine that intense of cold. It is painful to think about. Hang in there. I agree. Those who are too warm should share some. :)

O:>)OO....Here is a snowman for you...since it will be too cold to go outside and make one! I think we are to get it...or some of it tomorrow on the mid-Atlantic coast. It will be our first snow for 2012. I do not envy you the COLD temperatures though. As a former educator, I recall the excitement a snow forecast brought ...Very Exciting for the kiddies + Very exciting for the staff too...DAYS OFF! Keep safe & warm!

Made it through, about o right now. Thanks for the snowman.LOL

Now thats how I remember winter in the Great White North. Last winter I was there many moons ago it was
blizzards, snowdrifts and -60 wind chill.

Had wind chills to -24F when we lived in Illinois and that was dreadfully frigid. Hope they keep the school kids home until it warms to a better temperature (bus' probably wouldn't start anyway). Don't go out and add on the layers. Warm hugs and thoughts for you.

The wind blows there too!LOL

But you have wide open spaces for that wind to kick up and bllllooooowwwww. We have the trees to help stop it. If you get on hwy 2 from grand forks to duluth, you go right by my house. I have relation in grand forks. My Dad was raised in the corner or N.D, MN., and canada.

They are predicting a blizzard here in mountains of Colorado! My husband's family homesteaded up on the North Shore by Little Marais and Tofte. Are you anywhere near there? We have just a tiny bit of property there still!
We're staying nice a warm inside - I'm making a pot of chili today :-) Hugs - stay safe! Jan

Recently found out that our daughter, son-in-law and grandson may be moving to Fairbanks Alaska, in the summer. (Military; orders are not in hand yet.)
-45 may seem like a warm spell to them if the orders are finalized. They will be slightly south of the artic cicle.
Has anyone seen embroidery designs of moose, polar bears, etc?
Hugs,
Jacqueline

Oh my god, we have (new found in 2009!!) family in Minneapolis after a mutual ancestor emigrated to the states
in the 19th century. My cousin Melissa got twins last November. Tomorrow I hope to skype with her first time after birth of her little ones - hopefully it is not too cold. Here in Germany we have a mixture of every kind of
weather - one day wet, the other "cold", then spring-like. It is difficult to adapt...Good luck for all with the extreme temperatures -Maria

I am not sure where you are located, on HWY 2 but I know the area well. Born and raised Minnesotan. I don't mind the cold this winter has been very mild. Growing up on the farm I remember sub zero weather for weeks. I even have gone tobogganing in -50F degrees weather with a -80F windchill when I was in my 20's. I do not like heat and humid weather. This morning in Minneapolis we were -10F below with a -32F windchill. I just wore 2 sweatshirts and hat and gloves.
