Thank you Anita. The buttons were chosen by my daughter and gave me a hard time as they were on shanks. DH broke the shanks off and drilled tiny holes to allow me to sew them on close to the garment.
What a wonderful patient husband. Shank buttons with little people can get caught so that was a great idea to cut it off. I've done that but glued them to button covers and it was for an adult because they could come loose and still be a hazard for a small child.

DH is very good and he loves to help with any thing I need for sewing. I was so worried that the buttons would break as they were quite expensive.
