Photos of the new house. 1. Living room. Don't know about all those shelves. I'm not much for dusting. lol 2. View from the front deck off the living room. 3. Even a view from the tub. 4. The top of the stairs has a place my DH wants to put a desk. 5. Bedroom our daughter has choose also with great views. This house has sat vacant for eight months and is filthy so will take a couple days to clean from top to bottom. The builder did come back and re-sanded the floors in the dining and living room and there is now an extra layer of fine dust. So much for downsizing. Not only is this place bigger than where we are now at 3300' we will be at 4000 feet (1219m) in elevation. Need to take breaks from packing and have done four loads of laundry and then my DH just asked what's for dinner. lol It's a rainy day and I'm thinking chili that is in the freezer. He said OK. In a few weeks will show what I come up for all those shelves around the fireplace.

OMG, OMG, I want that house! Well, except for all the steps! In this stage of health I can't deal with them but oh how I could fill those shelves! You are living in my dream house! Congrats! Enjoy!

Thank you. There is a complete in-law suite downstairs we have to clean before a picture can be shown. You can move in there. It has it's own outside door and will try to rent to a quiet college student. Comes complete with washer/dryer, dishwasher, ref., bathroom and views.
by capoodle 21 Jan 2012
cut off again. Bathroom and views. It would be about 7 miles to the campus or less if you park and ride the bus.
by leenova54 21 Jan 2012
That would be even better, I'd use the in-law suite as the master bedroom and never have to go upstairs if I didn't want to, lol!
by capoodle 21 Jan 2012
Could drive you around and up to the back door. No steps that way.

Thank you. We went yesterday and took measurements to have an idea of how to set it up. It has sloped walls in the upstairs so measured those also.

Anita, thank you sor sharing your new home - what a beauty - I would love it - except for the stairs - but then - it might be good for me, too. Hehehe! I can't wait to see what you do with it. Those shelves would be a dream for me.

I don't like dusting either - but I could fill the shelves up.
by capoodle 22 Jan 2012
There is so much dust right now since the doors were not shut from the sanding of the floors. Don't need to sign up for step aerobics. lol We do have steps now so I'm used to them.

I'm thinking something I can put in the dishwasher and then use a swiffer duster. It's got to be easy and quick.

Dear Anita, wow, those views will be wonderful when the trees have leaves. I keep forgetting it's winter over your way. Everything here is green at the moment! Beautiful home, love the stairwell and the loft/attic area. Beautiful polished floorboards too. Hope you settle in really quickly. Love Chris

Going to try to get everything settled by the time two weeks are up after the move. Can't stand the clutter and not being able to get to stuff. Stopped packing for the night and still have one load of laundry to fold. I'm not tired just a sore arm. Will watch the forest burst with blooms from this side of the county. The foliage is definitely going to show different.

Thank you. It was a lucky find since since our daughter works at the local media and the first to call about it. Had started looking right before she broke her foot in August. It pays to wait.

Lovely house but how will you keep the cold from coming through the glass windows ?
I could fill those shelves easily-books ,dvds etc & still need more room.
Stairs keep you fit.

The windows are double paned with air/gas between the layers and spray insulation to fill gaps.

Will someone invent a appliance that you can plug in ,turn on,shut the doors & windows ,& come back a few hours later to find that everything is dust free.
There are vacuum cleaners & lawn mowers that do their work without us pushing them around.

I would think I had died and gone to heaven!
Absolutely gorgeous home and I sure could fill all those shelves, I have always wanted built-ins like that for my books. I could even climb the stairs now.
Whereabouts is your home?
Are there any neighbours close to?
Would love to see more photos, the kitchen, dining, outside of house.
Houses simply fascinate me.
Congratulations on such a wonderful find!
hugs and many blessings, Meganne

Blue Ridge Mountains (BRM) in North Carolina, USA Called BRM because of the blue hue the evergreens casts in the sky. A few neighbors and saw a horse on the way up to the house. Only been there twice and will get the keys on Tuesday.

Thank you. Probably sew in the exact flip side bedroom from our daughters. Our son is at college and only comes home for a day or two each month. Disadvantage of living here is all three airports are at least 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours drive but a cutie get together would be fun.

Looks like a very nice house !!! It might be dirty (isn't this always the case when you move into an appartement or house ? When we bought our house I've been cleaning the kitchen whole day, I almost cried) But you will see within few weeks everything is so nice, you never want to move again.

Thank you. My DH and I work so well together cleaning and will will get it done in a couple long afternoons. Our daughter will bring us dinner and help as best she can after she gets off work so we can work through the evening. She still has limitations from foot surgery but can help in other ways.

Beautiful... I love the NC mountains! That house is 4X the size of mine. LOL... I will say though, you can buy glass doors for the shelving, but then which is worse? Dusting or washing windows?(glass doors.) hehehe... Lovely home, looking forward to seeing what you will do with all the space.

I live in the country and I could live fine where you are too. Nothing like peace and quite, (although that doesn't happen enough here). It looks so peaceful out your windows. We took a trip 2 years ago to the Smoky Mountains, enjoyed it so much, did nature hikes. We lived in Germany for about a year and a half so mountains reminded me of there. My sister lives in the mountains of Missouri and when we go there I relax so much. She has nice veiws like you. You can look out the downstairs windows and see across to other mountain tops. I wish you and your family peace and contentment, love and laughter and the best of health in your new home. Looking forward to more photos, Hugs and God bless You -Toogie
