My Brother2500D said "CANNOT USE THIS FRAME" Company advised to purchase another, which I did, now I have two 5x7 frames that I cannot use. All other frames work fine. Anybody have this problem before? Betty

Yes I know Shirlene. But I am able to use the 8x10 in lieu of the 5x7 so I am able to sew, thank goodness. It's just that I spent the extra money and still cannot use the frames. That was a Brother rep. on the phone with her response to my problem. Betty

I have that machine and use my 5x7 hoop all of the time. When was the last time you had it service. Maybe the dealer can find out what is wrong with.

I've not had this problem but is it possible they have sold you the wrong hoop??? Check your manual for the codes to the hoop and make sure they are the same code. Hope someone else can help. xx

Hidden under the machine are sensors that work out which frame is in place. The shape also is part of the system too, it is easy to damage the sensors without realising. As sewinghuggs says when did you last have the machine serviced. Good Luck

Thank you, is there anyway I can check or look at the sensor? I have used this frame for about 3 years and all of a sudden my machine refuses to let me use it. Very frustrating. Betty

Actually the last time I had it serviced, it came back like this and Brother said it was a new problem, I wanted to take it back but they said it would be another $99 charge, so I bought the additional 5x7 frame, my 4x4 and 8x10 have no problem. Been using the large 8x10 and not worrying about the 5x7 but I know something is wrong. Could the guy who fixed it put it on something to damage the sensor on the bottom? I always keep my machine on my table unless it's in the shop or I clean the table and nothing is ever under it. Betty

I had that happen when I had my brother 2001 ULT. It is a part where you put the hoop in that is broken & won't recognize the 5x7 hoop. Sorry to say it needs to go to the repair shop. I know that stinks. Arlene

Arlene, thank you, did they tell you why that happened? Hopefully it will never happen again. Betty

There was something broken where the hoop goes in. It never happened again after I had it fixed.
