Is there any way to decrease the density on a purchased design? Or are they "locked" somehow so that they can't be edited? Oh, I have so much to learn! Thanks in advance.

I don't know what software you have, but Embird allows you to alter the density in Manager - Edit and then Set (or Shift+Ctrl+D). Save the edited design under a new design and do a test stitch out. There are limits to what you can do with this edit - but trial and error is the best teacher!

Well, I have PE-Design, but my husband keeps asking me if there is a program that I'd like to have, and I'm wondering...Would I like Embird better? I'd love feed back on that.
Go for it - and make sure you get Studio, Iconizer and Font Engine whilst he is feeling in a generous mood. You can trial Embird free, though you can't save designs.
You can do that easily with your pedesign. Just use the sewing atributes.

Floriani software lets you decrease or increase stitches according to what fabric you plan to use. Good luck with you project. Happy stitching!

I do not know embird yet, however I do have an opinion on designs. Most designs are created with a 40 wt thread in mind. I use a 50 wt cotton and so for some designs it would cause problems. Hope this helps and Live Laugh Download Stitch!

Most good software programs will adjust the density of designs. Find one that you like and use it use it use it. And don't hesitate to ask any question.

If after testing a design and the density needs to be decreased, I just enlarge it the 10% allowed on my machine and that seems to solve the problem.
