UFO/ UNFINISHED OBJECT something I have a lot of./Lillian

Every now and then we go through the list of abbreviations :) Unfinished Object, GrandChildren, WSS=water soluble stabiliser, ITH=In The Hoop, FSL=free standing lace, TTT=to the top (of the list of comments or topics, ME=machine embroidery, DH= dear husband, BIL=brother in law, SIL=sister in law or son in law,PIGS=project in a grocery sack, LOL=Lots Of Laughs, ROFL=rolling on the floor laughing. Hope some of these help you -you're doing well to work out what you have!

On the front page in community, in the search box on the right side of the page, I put abbreviations to bring up older conversation threads.
You can go look through them, but this one is a huge list of internet ones.
We used to get GAMES magazine a zillion years ago, and one of their puzzle pages was phrases to figure out from just the first letters of the words. Like : SWAT7D----Snow White and the 7 Dwarves.

At the risk of being a pain, and to be considerate for those for whom English isn't their first language, I think we should write in full and only use abbreviations for embroidery related things. Mind you, it took me ages to work those out when I joined!

I am sitting here laughing....I live in the USA and every time I see an abbreviation I have to stop and figure it out...not a problem...I love all of my cutie friends and don't know how I ever got along without all of you...helpful, loveing, kind,and oh so giving..big huggggggs to all of you.

I also live in the USA and have trouble figuring out abbreviations so you are not along. My grandkids will send me something and use some of them and I have to ask what they mean. Some years ago I joined a Senior website and they were using them and I felt so stupid trying to understand them. Always talked about their DH which I found out was Dear Hubby. XOXO meant hugs and kisses, SWAK, sealed with a kiss. I doubt I'll ever learn them all. Hope the link someone posted here helps you and I think I'll check it out too as I have the same problem. Hope this makes sense to most of you, I was reading the list and out of the past came a little voice..it said, AIN'T is NOT a word...can you imagine how many people turning in their graves that taught proper English language..progress, I wonder..that's why alot of our kids can't spell if their lives depended on it..I guess nowadays we are in such a rush that we don't show the importance of using proper English..but I guess I can't be a language prude...lol

I understand. I keep thinking of weird things when I see DH. I think UFO means unfinished object. and GC is grandchild. hopefully more will be revealed. Oh and DH is Dear or Darling husband not divorced. Live Laugh Download Stitch!
