I used to sew professionaly and my work table was covered with a light-weight canvas type fabric that was heat and stain resistant and very resilent. That is what I am using for the light colored coasters. The black ones are done on washable felt. If I make more black ones I will do them on canvas or duck because the stitches sink into the felt too much.

Great job, love how you used the color of the leaves for the outer stitching. These would make lovely towel toppers exactly how you have them and take just the design for the towel itself. Betty

Yes, the outline stitch matches the color of the leaves and every one is a different shade of green.

Love your idea for coasters, oh i agree with other ladies these would make beautiful towel toppers too. Great job, well done. I hope your machine gets the proper TLC its deserves, i took my two machines in and well the one is a total mess, needs to go back, so i'm stuck with just the one for now. So my production is going slow, LOL for me anyhow.
