My sewing day started badly. I decided to change my needle, but somehow it slipped right trough my finger... in the machine...ohoh.. tried to take it..slipped back even further...Damm, asked my DH for a magnetic thing...it was to thick.. Nothing left then opening the machine..okay Got it ! Back to Sewing? No ofcourse not. If things start bad they keep on being bad. Wanted to sew. But my bottom thread didn't came up anymore. No sewing :-((( But I don't give up easily. After taking everything apart again (needed to do it 3 times) I got it working again :-)))But how much dust it gets in a machine ? I mean I don't sew daily, and I was surprised how much there was already. So maybe afterall a good thing that I lost my needle.

I clean my machine once a week, every saturday morning, that way I do not forget, dust can do bad things

I should too Michelle-I was real good about it when my machines were new and I first started my business(almost 8 yrs.ago) but......oops-now, not so much lol

LOL-hope everything is all ready to rock n' roll for you now Linda. I just cleaned & oiled machines inside n out Friday night-shame on me-my main machine & serger had so much lint in them-it's a wonder they stitched at all!! ~linda~

THAT HAS HAPPEN TO ME TOO, SO NOW I ALWAYS CHANGE THE NEEDLE WHEN I HAVE THE HOOP AND FABRIC THERE!!!********

yes lesson learned. When I will change my needle now. At least I'll cover the "hole" with a piece of paper or so ! -this is not written in the manual ;-)

Same thing happens to all of us, and it always turn out to be an indication to clean our machines. Funny that we never clean our sewing machines the way we clean our embroidery machines. ***

well - something like that for me - I have broken 2 needles trying to add binding to potholders that I am making - sure don't know what I am doing. It may be my machine,.,,..,.,may be time to buy a new one. LOL I would be afraid to take mine apart. I do have a magnetic wand type thing that got the needle tip out of the bobbin area.

next time turn it over and shake it, my repair man showed me this when i lost my needle and didn't want to sew ,he said not to use a magnet lol

That's exactly what I do. Turn it upside down and shake. Mine is a little heavy for me so I get whoever is near that has a strong arm and back, usually a son n law. LOL/Lillian & yes keep magnets away.

Don't they advise you to keep magnets away from these computerised embroidery machines. I think I have read that somewhere. Be careful!!!!!! Hugs Marg
