My tip of the day, go buy yourself one of these little gadgets. Hubby put this in my stocking and I just love it. Makes going over your finished embroidery project so easy and the flexible arm is great to work with.

I plan on gluing a clamp on the bottom so that I can attach it the the edge of my hoops.
Did I mention, this is a must have for those without, link below
hugs
Michelle

How did you know that my eyes get more and more problems to zoom into the embroidery? Was thinking about a second pair of glasses soecially for these kind of work but this seems to be cheaper ;o)
Clever hubby *lol*
Greetings, Bettina

Gotta love him, I just asked for a magnifying glass (like the dollar store varitey) and this is what he came up with. I tell you it is GREAT. Anything to make an embroiderer life easier I say, LOL

Waht a great tip and wonderful gift from you hubby. Rick gave me a great lamp that has one of these sort of magnification glass and a clamp, besides the day light lamp - I love it for my embroidery work.

It would be wonderful to dig splinters from my hands after working outdoors. I always have a hard time holding the magnifying glass and digging with a needle. need 3 hands. He! he!

I would be lost without my magnifying glass.
It is on a long adjustable arm that is clamped onto my sewing table and the magnifying glass is set inside a circular fluorescent light. I have it set up between two machines so it can reach both, depending where I am sitting.
It came with two different strength magnifying glasses so, as my eyesight deteriorates, I can install the strongest one and still use it.
Funnily enough my hubby saw it at a show and bought it for me, I would never have spent so much on a light, but i'm sure glad he did.
We sure are blessed with wonderful hubbies! :-)

This looks great. Do any SA Cuties know where I could get something similar here in SA? Sarah.

I have a big satnding onbe with a build in day light. When I got it I was not sure I would use it a lot but I could not do without it now. I use it to cut jump stitches but also to cut around ITH project to make sure that I do not cut in the satin stitch. I can recommend it to evry one.

I looked on line and on JoAnn's website and found it a bit smaller for a better price. Going to hit JoAnn's with a 40% off coupon. You can get that one (5" on base or 3 1/2 on clip) on line only but they show the 3 1/2" one for $24.99 that is on a clip. If it's in stock I am getting one, great for beading too!

My JoAnn's did not have any! Oh well, do I truly NEED one? No so I will wait and think about it. If not, Amazon has some at decent prices too.

Many bookstores have these -night light or reading lights. Also, if you are lucke enough to have a Tuesday Morning store near you I have found very good ones there for just a few dollars.
