I would like some honest opinions on this apron. I can not make up my mind if its cute or somewhere between cute and hideous! I want to join a swap where you up-cycle old clothes, sheets, whatever onto something new. This is made from old blouses, shorts, and a sheet, lol!

Thanks for your honesty! I appreciate it. Which lace? The white lace across the dark purple pocket or also the lavendar lace acorss the lavendar pocket too? I wonder what others think, I may need to remove it, lol! Maybe THATS whats not sitting well with me.

Recycling is good and an apron is always practical. One thing I wouldn't do is placing scissors of any size in the pockets, it's unsafe. Hugs, Lidia

I agree with Carolyn, that the lace seems out of place. Hugs, Lidia

LOL, Thats the way it was shown on the pattern, so I thought I'd show it that way here too. But you are right about scissors in pockets, that might hurt.
Thanks!

It would make a nice wall hanging organizer and be a lot safer than wearing it with all those sharp pointy things in the pockets.

Hi Diane, I personally don't like the lace on any of the pockets, but I do like the different coloured trims from the fabrics. I'm not a frilly person either. Great idea, though. Love Chris

Well, I'm going to answer before I read other comments because then I'm not influenced. I think your apron is super cute. The tiny pocket with the hearts on it, might be a tad small and close to the waste to be very useful (mostly because it is close to the waist) but I really like it. I love creativity, and you have done a fab job here!! You could even put one more pocket right about where the orange scissor handles go, for a well rounded pocket population. :)

By the way, I DO like the lace (I am very much a lace and trims sort of person). My thought, with the scissors was that you might want to put a piece of leather at the bottom by the pointy part to keep them from poking through...and you.

Very innovative. I would just be a little wary of sitting down with scissors pointing downwards as they are, but good use of old clothes. Jan

I agree with those who say lose the lace. Also lose the pointy pocket and replace it with one more functional. Just my thoughts.

The dangerous scissors pocket came of this morning, lol! I AM thinking of adding a tie with a clip for the scissors to dangle from instead, any thoughts on that?
by queenofhearts 05 Feb 2012
I'm not sure that scissors should be there at all. It would be much safer to hang them around your neck. If they were clipped to the apron you might end up sitting on them.

"I" love your apron..I'm also doing a lot of repurposing of clothes etc..this would save me so much time and energy running up or downstairs to find what I needed ...now,I would need of course to load the pockets BEFORE I started cleaning...haha GOOD JOB!

My honest opinion : I like the design , but I would not go for the lase . Also I would stick to the more or less same colors (purple-pink,...) not the fabric where with the sissor with lace. But it sure looks pratical.

The lace was removed this morning, you where not the only one who felt this way. I do have a few who like the lace, but as one lady on another site put it all lace OR all trim. The two just don't seem to work together here. I love the honesty! It has helped me get out of a funk, and I like the changes I've made so far.

love the apron, there are lots of comments on the lace, well i think if you use lace and it is pretty use it in more then 2 places, for me the rule of 3 usually works, it doesn't need to be the same lace but just lace, but i love it, I'm a pocket pers

Thanks, the lace came off this morning as a gal on another site put it, she likes the lace, but felt it should be all lace or all trim, the two just don't work well here. I had to agree.

Looks very functional, but I agree that the lace doesn't look right. And The pointy pocket looks a little out of place. And may not be too safe for long. Other than minor things, I really like it! You did a very creative job.

Has a vintage or retro look; nice assortment of pockets; agree about scissors and lace, love the saying you added to the pocket.
