Well cuties here's another question for you: WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR MISTAKES?

I messed up what was to be a block for a table runner by changing it to much!

Looks like a great coaster to me, and I can never have too many of them. Did you do that stippling freemotion or was it part of the design? I'd say it's not a mistake but a 'learning exercise' :)

I have a great big canvas here that's already framed... I thought I'd take my 'Oh no!s' and make a collage out of them.

I have a friend who makes and sells kindle covers, iphone covers, ipad.... She takes my mistakes and incorporates them into her covers. If it is really bad? Then it becomes a practice test piece - checking a stitch, messing with tension, etc.

MISTAKES? Throw them away. I don't want anyone seeing something bad that I have made - unless it is to show them what not to do.

Isn't a coaster a thing to put a cup on it? So nobody will see this little mistake clearly ;)
I had a mistake in just one part of my lamp-designs I try to use the rest as a grainpad or for a lavender-sachet (like in the pic; the right angel had a hole in the face cause I cutted the thread wrong). Once I stiched a design in green on green (and it was the wrong green, looked awful) this is to show my customer why I don't like green-on-green ;-)
Greetings, Bettina

Thank goodness I haven't had too many disasters - only because I cannot change things on my old machine. I did a towel for an old friend celebrating a special birthday and got the date wrong!! DH now uses it in the garage. LOL. :)

Well, I throw them away and try again. I always learn from my mistakes so there not a total waste.

I usually get rid of them. Sometimes like you I can salvage it into something else. Hugs, Mary

If I can disguise it, I keep it. If not, I chunk it!

Don't chuck anything! If you do not want it I will take it! I am a collector of UFO's and they will become...

What mistakes?!?! You didn't make a mistake just an re-invention of the outcome is in order. I don't know how many things I've had to re-invent into something. And I have a daughter who LOVES all these re-inventions, lol! Sometimes I think she's a little odd that way, but hey. One persons junk is another's treasure, lol! I made a water bottle carrier and did not realize brother has a color called "applique", still don't know what color it i, lol! But I had never done one at that point so I thought i was where I put down a hunk of fabric to applique, well the following colors looked absolutely hideous with the material I used for the applique AND it covered up a huge part that was already filled by embroidering. I was ready to toss it and my daughter says NO mom I WANT that. She has it in her car where ever she goes and I cringe every time I see it, lol! But she loves the darn thing!

Mine becomes maybe part of a child quilt, a coaster or even a washcloth in the kitchen, if it is really ugly (LOL) Sometimes I just use it again to test my stitches. ***
