I sew for my own enjoyment and give away most of what I make. I sewed professionally for more than 30 years and sewing is part of who I am. Most of what I do now though is embroidery. It is so addictive.

Most of what I show - I end up giving away - I do have a website - but have only had about 20 orders in two years - that was good to be able to sell a few things - as I keep myself busy making inventory - in hopes that someone will come along and want to purchase something that I have made - I enjoy embroidery so much - it doesn't matter one way or the other - but most people that receive a gift from me - will receive my embroidery.

I give away most of what I make and a lot of it is trying out my own designs and doing a series when I like it or doing special things for family and to a lesser extend friends.
Occasionally I do orders for neighbours (and their friends who liked what they received) and for a museum I've embroidered towels with their logo - made hundreds and hundreds since 1999. I both cases I only charge the costs of materials - not very business like.

Digitising - same thing: doing specials for my (grand)children, trying out new things, doing requests. I have had 2 orders in total over the years where I was paid a small fee, in all other cases I did it for free.

Last September someone offered to sell me a design (the 3D FSL Christmas tree with star), not knowing I had uploaded it in DBC - she'd bought it on the internet and offered it to me at half price which amounted to $3! At first I decided never to post a design again, but that did not last long.

I sell most of what I embroider and then give some away as gifts. I have very little embroidered items for myself because just never get around to it but do love doing it,

I give everything away. Most of what I am doing at the moment is testing my own designs.I make whatever takes my fancy and then wonder what to do with it!

I sew for pure enjoyment and give everything away, unless it is something I have done for myself. Last year I did get a few orders which was nice.

All the projects that I have embroider are to give to my family or friends. I have not the time to do something for me.
My grandchildren ask always for new embroidery on their clothes. The SS of suedewsbury is great because I have received beautiful embroideries for me!!!

I do my soul searching when I'm creating... and the projects I start are usually for the people in my life that I love and want to show them how much I appreciate them being a part of my life.

i just have to sew! I almost always give it away! I make quilts alot & I try to give one to my family, as I have 8 brothers & sisters it takes some time! I have to make some for my own kids still! I make what I want & when there is a need I make that first!

So far I have only sewed a few things for myself; like a T-shirt, a table runner. Most of the things are for people whom I think they deserve it. Not always friends, sometimes colleguas 'cos they were friendly during the year. Never have charged something. But I just started with embroidery since last August.
