Faked mails are on their way!!!

Today I received a mail from another cutie. Should made me careful that there was no subject in the title and nothing inside than a link but it seems that it get you to a notice of babynews and I thought this cutie was so happy abiut it that she forgot to write anything else. The link lead me to a page with canadian pharmacy and I hope this was the badest thing that it is just SPAM.
The link was named: kevinandrennee.com/babynews.old/wp-content/plugins/worldpress-automatic-upgrade...
I closed it fast as lightning and shut down my mac. After the boot up nothing strange happened so far and I hope it stays this way.
Wrote a note to that cutie because her account is maybe hakced (yahoo-account).
Greetings, Bettina

Good of you to reiterate this warning. My mailbox has been hijacked 3 times already this year. They get all your addresses and then send emails as if from you, trying to get someone to click on a link.I have warned all my contacts not to even open anything(supposedly) from me until I change my account and let them know we should be safe. Better safe than sorry.

I got rid of my yahoo account becasue I was also hacked several times after getting e-mails like the above. It seems sometimes they could still hack my account even when I didn't open the e-mail. Scary thought!

That cutie has send a mail that her account was hacked but too late for me :o( Hope that my mac-mail will be strong ;-) It was a yahoo-account that was hacked. Are those favorites for hackers?

Thanks for sharing this info. We all need to be aware of this type of thing and be alert and check before we open something. I personally delete anything if i do not know who it is from. Hugs, Mary

That is what I do also but this seems to be from a close friend. That's the tricky thing on this kind of SPAM :o(

This is why I never open an e-mail without a subject, even if its from someone I know. I will go through the hassle of contacting them and asking if they sent an e-mail without a subject first. I've gotten that e-mail and gone there and then had to clean out my computer. Not fun!! I did make sure I let everyone in my address book know I had recieved an e-mail without a subject and if they got one from me to delete it, and DO NOT OPEN it in the message to them. Mine was a yahoo account to at the time and so was the person whom I recieved that e-mail from. I hope you caught it in time!! I would do a virus etc cleaning of your computer just to be safe.

Thanks for the warning. I received an email from my sister that seemed strange. Nothing that was like her to write. I deleted it and blocked her email. She got everything straight, but all her contact list had been sent this email. Hope all were wise enough o delete as I did.

I was the one hacked but my son said it doesn't really do anything but copy your email addresses, I changed my email password first thing, we all should every now and then change out passwords. Then I ran a virus scan and it found a couple of harmless things and deleted them. I am sorry it got to my email and I don't know how it did but the big give away is the empty subject line. Never click on links you are not sure of. Good luck!
Hugs and flowers, Debra

I changed my passwrod but my mailprogram always tells me that the server it should be connected to seems not to be the real mail.mac.com. Now I have to admit my husband that I was stupid enough to click on that link...
