Hello

This is my first day here, so a huge hello to you all. A friend of mine suggested I came here and asked if anyone could help me.

I am 'Grandma' the grandma that gets roped into making everything for everyone! I do not mind at all, as I enjoy creating things and receive a huge amount of satisfaction when these folk are pleased with the end result.

I have a huge collecton of pez designs, but guess what, I just do not have a simple 'spot' design.

My daughter has asked me if I could make a 'Ladybird/bug' costume for her daughter (my special little girl) Of course I can, with pleasure. I decided to stitch the actual ladybird spots/dots onto the fabric direct, instead of buying the red and black spotted fabric, as i have a shed full of beautiful red satin. But hey ho, I do not have a simple spot/dot to stitch out.
Can anyone tell me where I can find one of these or would someone be kind enough to design one for me to fit a 4 x 4 frame, if so it might be easier if a few where designed in one frame, to save me hooping a lot. They do not have to be very large perhaps the size a pencil end or slightly smaller and staggered to look like the spots on a ladybird/bug.

I would be enternally grateful if anyone can help.

Many thanks

Welcome to cute and I am privileged to be the first one to welcome you....
If you are make a whole costume for her, you need to make the dots about 2 inches and place around on the costume....
a few would look nicer than a whole bunch of little ones and they don't have that many spots on them.....
AngelBaby811 in DBC has a great one that has toys on it but you can omit the toys from stitching but it is a great size circle and you will find that this design will shine on your costume......the link is below....

Hello and thank you for your response. No I am not dotting/spotting all over as I think it will be just tooooo buzzy (he he) busy. I am doing the skirt in layers of red then vlack net. The top in red background with stitched black spots/dots. I have drawn it out and it looks great that way.

I am no good at all with altering designs, so removing anything from a design for me would be a nightmare.

Thank you to all those who have responded.

Welcome to you too Parkermom.

drawn the design out and it looks great. I am no good at altering designs, so editing things out is not an option for me.

Thank you to all those who have responded and welcome Parkermom.

Thank you quilter. I have looked at the link and downloaded the design, but sadly it is approx and inch in size and therefore just too large. But many thanks all the same.

Welcome to Cute... While others are looking, is it possible that you could use the "periods" in some of your fonts? On most machines there are 3 different sizes. Would that work?

I would be pleased to do this for you but there would be many jump stitches that way. I would recommend connecting them, swirls would be nice. Also pencil head size would be very very small, would you perhaps like larger? Let me know if that would appeal to you. But I can do it either way, just let me know .

Hello Michelle

This is also so very kind of you. I have drawn the design out and I am happy with the pencil ed size as I do not what the spots to jump into ones face more so that the dress design. She is only a slight little thing and so I think this size is fine. I do not mind the jump stitches as if spaced say a couple of inches, there will not be that many to cut as I am only covering the bodice. Plcd has done a design but she is waiting on permmision from the digitizer, so if it is easy for you to do and will not take up to much of your time, I would love to accept your very kind offer.

Thank you so much x

the size of a pencil will be fine. If designed with a gap say of 2 inches, as I am only stitching the bodice there will not be too many jump stitches and I really do not mind snipping them off.

Pldc, has very kindly already designed or altered another design for me, but is waiting on acceptance to send from another. So if you have the time and really do not mind, I would love to accept your kind offer. By the way...welcome to this forum and thank you so much x

Hello again, I am just getting back here for the day and read your reply, some of the text seems to be cut off. I am not sure what your answer is saying ???? I am confused, Pldc has already done this for you? Or do you still need this done? I am not sure of the rules here, if it is okay to leave my email addy or not so that you may contact me. I am not even sure if this is the place you will find my reply so I will copy paste this above and again as a new post .

Welcome! Check out the special stitches on your sewing machine. You can always do just ONE of a line of circles, or spots, by programming in a "stop." If you can't figure it out, call the store where you got your machine & ask them to walk you thru it. Good luck & post the finished dress in Projects!

Welcome to Cute! Sorry but I don't digitize, but have looked in my own collection of PES designs and found few filled circles of any size. Martine (mops) in Designs by Cuties, has some lovely shapes, but I have not seen any as small as you are desire.
Good luck with your search.
Hugs,
Jacqueline

Welcome to Cute. You could appliqué black spots on by using the circle design from FiveStarFonts shapes freebies. It is on page 5. :>) God Bless and again, Welcome to the best site on the WWW!

I remember seeing a simple "dot" just recently, but for the life of me, I cannot find it. Now I have to wonder what I may have called it. My brain has taken a momentary vacation. If I find it, I can message you. Meanwhile, welcome to Cute!! It is a happy, cozy and friendly place to hang out. There are lots of wonderful people here, and I'm sure you will learn a lot....like how to label your designs so you can find them later. :) Good luck with your quest.
