well along time ago I made a towel for an Anniversary gift, with no stabilizer on the top or on the bottom & then to make matters worse it was not only too small it was done UPSIDE DOWN! I have learned to use a fusable jersey on the bottom to stabilize it & then water soluable on the top to "puff it out" & to double check my design against my "towel" or what ever I'm doing @ the time. Is was a very good lesson for me to learn because it's one that I remember to this day!

I played with old towels and pieces of scraps for a few days to get the feel of the machine and what it would do. I do not think I ever messed up anything that I did for someone that I could not fix. I did however do some requested items that I DID NOT LIKE but I did what was requested from the customer!
LIKE but was what the customer had asked for!
oh that's a good idea, thanks, I will try to remember that one

To never leave the machine! I stitched a sleeve to the front of a tee. the machine jammed because the foot was entangled in the mess....took forever to get it out of the machine, and the sleeve unstitched. I was by a miracle able to salvage the tee....but it does have a strange embroidery on one sleeve! LOL

When doing a fairly large piece (example my tablerunner) To check on which side I am doing my embroidery on. I ended u[ doing such a pretty design on each end. Problem was they were both on oppsite sides!!! Now i make sure before I stitch. Hugs, Mary

To make sure that the fabric doesn't "dunlop" under the hoop and get stitched into the back of the design. It only took one or two times for that to happen for me to check every time I embroider!!

If you are doing something with a name on it-make sure you get the correct spelling of the name!
