Shirlener88, I had a lend of my sister in laws Pe-Design Version 4 for awhile and only used it to write the designs from the net to the card and was just thinking of learning how to do the digitizing when I had to give it back. Version 7 has a couple of extra things on it and I looked at all the others and found that you had to buy a few different add-ons to make one that had it all. It has all the basics and advanced opperations, it has custom fonts (font creator) it also has 35 built-in fonts, and photo. If you go to the brother site you can read up on what it has there. Plus I got it cheap on ebay less than half RRP. That made me very happy.I also wanted to make my own designs and from a scaned picture.

I looked everywhere and of course the shop was $1999.00 AUD but found one on ebay for a lot less. I was very lucky. I nearly bought a cheaper one that I would not have been happy with, and had to buy two programs to have all that the Pe Design had.

I bought it for the reasons I gave Shirlener88 and because it it the top of the range for the Brother sofware. No I havent done digitizing before but I am learning. I will be reading the book over and over and practicing. Or I will just do it automatically and put my writing with the designs. It is a good one and you were very lucky to have been given it, with this one you dont need anything else, it does everything.I hope you are able to learn as well, we can learn together. My next project is to get a new machine. Have fun with yours and read the book and practice. I tried to make a design already but it had too many stitches for the card and the machine so I will look at another picture. Good luck.
